 | I am planning to pursue my Master's and PhD studies, but I am worry after reading an article which predicted that a lot of jobs will disappear by 2030 and professor job was in the list, the writer saw that we would no longer need professors because of E-education and distance education etc., so I am worry now and I feel that after I take my PhD it will be valueless and I will not be able to find a job!

 | I will be going back to school in the fall for my Masters in Fine Art. I would like to teach at the college level when I'm finished. I know plenty of professors who have enough professional experience to begin teaching with only a Bachelor's degree. I have worked in my field for over 10 years. How do you seek a professor job? It's not as if those types of jobs are posted. Would you contact the college directly and send a resume? Is there a place where these types of things are advertised? Can I start teaching while studying for my Masters?

 | I read on wiki "Assistant professor: An introductory level professor. A position generally taken after receiving PhD and/or completing a post-doctoral fellowship. After 4–8 years, assistant professors will be either tenured or dismissed from the university."
what does this mean when they are dismissed? Does that simply mean that they don't get tenured and would have to get a non tenured professor job such as an instructor or a collegiate assistant professor? and if you get dismissed would you be able to try again?

I have a BA in Theater, an MA in Theater and Film Studies, and a PhD in Drama – all from prestigious U.S. universities. This represents 9 years of study.
My areas of academic specialization are performance theory, history of directing, modern U.S. drama, and post-colonial 'deconstructed' feminist theatre.
However, the academic (i.e. Professor) jobs for this is slim. What job can I take while I wait for a professor job to open up?

 | I am due August 25th, and trying to decide whether I can take a professor job, starting after labor day. That will give me only about 2 weeks to recover. (Yes, it has occurred to me that I may be overdue, but most women in my family tend to go early).
My mother tells me that I am going to be in shear agony for 3-4 weeks, but I'm not sure that's the case for everyone. What were your experiences? How long before you could stand for an hour or two, and do light walking?

 | I understand that it's not a good idea to form relationships with professors while still in the class (favoritism, etc.). But why is it such a big deal when a prof becomes involved with a student who will never be his student again? Especially if they are both single and in and around the same age? Why would this jepeardize a professors job? I like my professor (used to be professor ) a lot, and I get the feeling he likes me. He spends a lot of time talking with me in his office and he often looks at me in ways that makes me think he does like me. I want to ask him for coffee but haven't because I've heard this might jepeardize his job. I don't mind as much that he might turn me down since I'm no longer his student. But what's the big deal anyway? Why can't we be free to date if we both want to? Lawyers date their clients all the time.

 | Even though Hilter hated Carl Marx- their agendas were close to Identical. So how did so many in our country become Marxists. Who started this spread of hate and evilness in America? Do you think it was George Soros- he has alot of power and tons of money. He could have used his powers to get the radical marxist professors jobs in our Universities!
Soro's is one of those Jews who hates Jews- when he was 14 years old he helped to kick people out of their homes and bring them into concentration camps!

 | I am graduating this Spring with a Bachelor in Business Management with a good GPA of 3.9. I am looking into becoming a college professor.I know that it is necessary to have a masters degree to teach in a 2 year college and a PhD in a 4 year university. I was looking for some advice on if I should go for my PhD? How long? How hard? How likely to be able to find a professors job? It would be great if others could share their experiences. Thanks!
