Student Services Director Job Questions & Answers

I'm looking into a masters in career counseling for college students-- advising for undergrad and/or career services would be ideal. As a backup, I'd also enjoy working in student affairs such as the registrar or academic services. While I know there are masters programs for higher ed/student services, I do know of many that worked their way into higher positions through experience, so there is clearly more than one route. So, I'm wondering if a masters in career counseling with a practicum with college students would allow for a career shift into student affairs as well should I choose to do so. I'm hoping I wouldn't have to go back and get a second masters degree to work in another department. Thanks!

I'm planning to attend a college that offers Air Force ROTC and graduate as a second lieutenant. However, I'd like to know what kind of jobs would be available to me once I do graduate. Could I be a doctor? If so, would I have to go to med school at some point? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am college student, and I've found my dream job and that is to plan large scale events. Now my major is Psychology and I'm doing a minor in management, so I feel I could put my degree to use in this position. However, I need to find a way to get myself into that catering/event planning environment and I can't decide which way would be best. Any suggestions?

I know that most funeral homes are family owned and I heard that it was difficult to find a job in this field but I thought I could manage. I've been trying to find an internship lately though and no one will hire me. I know it isn't just me because I'm professional, well spoken and good looking. I've never had trouble finding a job before. I'm also already a funeral services student at a board certified school so it isn't like I'm just some random person off the street.

I am looking to get into psychology but I don't want to go to graduate school. People have scared me away and said the competition for clinical psychologists is fierce in the US. I'd like to put in 4 years or so. I'd be happy with being a mental health aid. What kind of jobs can you get with a bachelors?

I'm looking for a degree that I can use in multiple areas so that if I don't like one area, I can do well in another. Does anyone have any program suggestions?

Isn't borrowing another trillion dollars just pushing the economic fallout down the road for another 2 years? Did the last $800B bailout have any effect? Isn't this like saying, "Honey, I lost my job today so I think to maintain our standard of living we should take a $40,000 draw on our credit card and buy a new car, some new clothes, and maybe take a vacation" ? Won't there big a price to pay in the near future?
