I have an interview on Friday with a small chain of day care/preschool centers. It's for a 3-6pm M-F position as a teacher's aide. Has anyone had interviews for similar places/positions? Any help would be great, I really want this job so I can leave me crappy retail job! Thanks!

My first and only job experience is as a teacher's aide at KinderCare and I left because of unfair treatment. I am having trouble finding a new job, because I don't have any experience with money. I am wondering what kind of job(s) would be able to hire someone with the experience that I have.

I'd like to apply at private schools in Orange county, CA, as teacher's aide or assistant, and so far all which I've contacted require a credential. Since earning this will take time, I would like to get some experience working with elementary grade (3rd-6th) children. I'm familiar with Edjoin.org, but have had no success.

Would districts care that you are really comfortable working with disabled people if you don't have a lick of teaching experience? I can't find a teacher's aide job, so this is what I am stuck with. Should I be worried that I am in a totally different field for now, just to pay the bills?

I've never been a teacher's aide before, but they're looking for someone at the charter school my friend's daughter goes to. I'm unemployed right now & I really want to give a good impression through my cover letter. I'm not a college graduate, but I plan on going to school to become a teacher, do I put that in there also? Any help would be appreciated.

I want to teach, or be in the teaching field, but I don't necessarily want to be a full time teacher. What steps do I have to take in order to find out how or become a teacher's aide?

I am planning on going into Special Ed. EI at the secondary level. I do not have a job for the winter and I'm commuting to a University. Does anyone know the job requirements or know of a website that can give me the requirements on becoming a teacher's aide (particularly for a special ed. classroom)? Not only will it give me a job, but it's something that I'm interested in and something that will benefit me for the future.

I don't want to look like I hop from job to job. How long do I need to work at a job in order for it to not look like I am a job hopper? I worked for three years at one daycare center. Then I worked for one year as a para-educator (teacher's aide) at a school last year. If I quit my current job (as a teacher's aide at a different school) at the end of this year, would that look really bad? Thanks!

Sometimes I see openings for a Teacher's Assistant/Aide and others for a Unique Assistant/Aide. The job descriptions don't appear to be different but I am curious as to why there are two different titles for the same job description. Is there a difference between Teacher's Assistant and a Unique Assistant in a school?

I have my bachelor's degree from a reputable university. I work as a teacher's aide to support myself but it only makes $11.60/hr + benefits (health insurance = good). I live paycheck to paycheck and I'm really tired of it so I need a job that pays at least $15/hr + benefits. What are some particular job fields out there that are better than others for musician/creative types?

I've got a BA in psychology and have 4 years experience working at a detention center and 2 years working as a teacher's aide in a Special Ed school. I'm curious as to what type of work those experiences could help me get.

How much can I make a year? I'd really like to know what to ask for. I actually have a teacher's license, but I feel I need more experience because I just graduated. Also, this is a tough job market. So I figure I'll just be a room aide for a while, and at least I will get experience with children.

I was asked during an interview for a teacher's aide position(pre school), all l can came up with was that l had no problem working with students from different cultural backgrounds and had experiences in my previous job. It was just too vague and short. The truth was that 5 year olds will act like 5 year olds no matter of their race/religions, but l didn't say it to the interviewer because it just sound rude. Is there a more eloquent answer?
