Training Specialist Job Questions & Answers

I just saw a Digital Conversion Specialist job posting with the Library of Congress, and I am wondering if there is anyone out there currently working in this job or in a similar role. If I were interested in obtaining a job like this, where would I start training and gathering such job skills? I am very interested in learning more about this career. Are there college programs that focus on training individuals for this type of career? Thanks for any advice.

I have heard that the medical care industry has a signifigant need for people who can maintain or repair advanced medical technology, but I am not sure what this type of job is called. It sounds like an electronics technition specialist job. I am also not sure exactly what type or level of education or training I would need to go into this job field, or what schools would offer this. Any advice would be appreciated. (: Also, is this something that could be a carreer type job? I'm sure it could lead into a variety of related carreers at the very least.

I have applied for several federal jobs. I have always gotten an e-mail stating that "you are qualified, but not among the top so we are not referring your application to a hiring manager." However, about two weeks ago, I got an e-mail stating that I am qualified for a contract specialist training program I applied to and they have forwarded my application. But I haven't heard anything further since then. Should I just give up on this?
