 | I would like to tutor math in the Long Beach, CA area. I am a certified math teacher for grades 4-8. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Math and a Master's in Education.
The problem is that I don't know many people since I haven't lived here long. I considered putting an ad on Craigslist, but my husband says that's not safe. So, what's the best way to get tutoring jobs?

 | I will be graduating with a bachelors in English with a minor in womens studies and history (maybe history). Do I need to get my masters or graduate degree? Is a bachelors degree enough? How do I go about finding a tutoring job? I would prefer something like a group. I don't really want to do the private tutor thing. What are the steps in becoming a tutor?

 | I've been working 4 days per week which is perfect for me but a few months ago, I found myself in a bit of a financial jam so I posted an ad as a math tutor for extra money - I started with 2 students over the summer and accepted 3 more starting in September - now I find that with my job and 2 evenings of tutoring, I don't see my family enough and I want to give up the tutoring job - I've grown quite fond of the 2 kids over the summer and I feel really terrible about 'dropping' them - I also don't know how to explain my decision to the other 3 who are expecting my services starting next week. Please help!
