I am currently looking for a job in education as an art teacher. I am certified K-12 and I am really interested in moving to Texas to teach(Austin area if possible). Being from wisconsin we have some really easy websites to search for employment like WECAN and the Wisconsin DPI website. I am having a lot of trouble finding a decent site to locate education jobs in texas. Is there a good state run website with education job listings somewhere? Thanks a lot!!

I know a lot of people are going to say "it varies" because some teachers work part time, some work at more than one school, some have non-education jobs and do teaching as a side job, etc. But let's say a FULL TIME teacher at ONE community college teaching 3-6 classes. And doing no research. What does a typical week consist of besides "prep time, lecture, and office hours"? How many hours?

McCain/Palin are denouncing the "socialism" of Americans wanting housing, education, jobs, and healthcare, while saying that we all should guarantee the risk-taking investments of the rich and war profiteering. Is that the same old "trickle-down economics" philosophy long since dismissed by the Republican mainstream or should it now be called something new?

I am in college to become a teacher. I like keeping an eye on the local districts regarding new happenings and what jobs are available. I noticed that around the end of the school year there were several Elementary Education and Special Education job openings in my county (8 at the time). They were all filled - the last of which was filled the first week of school. My question is this - If the school filled all of the positions this year, how likely is it that jobs will be open in those fields next year? How do jobs open up for teaching?
