 | I want to become a computer engineer, I'm currently learning A+ from TestOut's CompTIA's A+ program.
What are the requirments of becomming a computer engineer?
What math level do I need and crap like that?
Where can I find a computer engineering job? (Near San Jose)
Are there any programs(not books) out there that can help me? (Even ones that you have to buy)
I want to be a hardware engineer, where I design parts and build them and crap.

 | So I was looking up the computer engineer job on several websites say the same thing:"It requires a strong backround in math." If this is even true, what type of math is needed? Ive already built 3 computers, I know how most of the parts work, and I didnt use any math. So is math really needed for a computer engineer position?
P.S: I want answers from people who are certain of what there talking about, people who have built computers, or people who work for computer companies, I dont want some random person saying:"YEAH YOU NEED MATH DURP." Also please tell me what type of math is required!

 | I will graduate with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering next spring and im starting my job search process. I was just wondering how some of you that are currently in the workforce found your jobs when you were about to graduate. Im checking all the job search sites(monster, careerbuilder etc) but was wondering if there are some other good methods to get your name out there.

 | I am about to graduate with a degree in computer engineering.
However, I am not too interested in working a computer engineering job. I am thinking about taking the CCNA exam and maybe trying a job in that.
How difficult is the exam?
Is there a lot of jobs for people with CCNA?

 | And do you think it will be hard to get a job which involves this degree?
Because right now all the people from other countries are getting these computer engineering jobs like people in India who come here on a H-1B visa to do these jobs.

 | I know there are more than one computer engineer in the military but what kind of engineering jobs deal with things such as your everyday computer to a supercomputer (the hardware of computers in general). I would like to join the USAF one day and do something like this.

 | I've been reading a lot about engineering jobs and was surprised to find that there's very little calculus being used in many of them. I like advanced math and I'm heading to engineering college next year (after I complete my prerequisites at a 2-year college) and was wondering what sort of jobs for computer science & engineering grads use a lot of math? I'm interested in working on anything really high-tech. Anything to do with physics simulations or graphics, or cutting edge IC design.

 | I know that computer engineers tend to focus on the hardware aspects of computers, but could an engineering major specialize in software and land a job in software development? Also, are there any kinds of computing jobs where software and hardware sort of meet? I'm trying to decide on whether or not I should major in Computer Science or Computer engineering. Both hardware and software really interest me, but it seems like I'm going to have to decide between one or the other.

However I already have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and I am not trying to do 4 years of school all over again. Will my credits transfer over? I am still young (23) but I want to get this degree in 2 years or less. Your answers are beneficial to my future.

 | Can you only use the GI Bill when you get out or can you use it while you are serving?
Are there other jobs in the Military besides "fighting"? Aren't there computer jobs, engineering jobs that will allow you to serve your Country that way?
Thank you so much for answering my questions.

 | Could someone explain to me in a clear way what makes them different cause I'm going to major in computer engineering but I'm unsure about it and maybe computer science is what I may want instead. Like what main jobs do computer engineering majors perform and what jobs do computer science majors get also.
