Kindly give me reasons to choose a career in Industrial Engineering or Engineering Management? I have my bachelors from a foreign university and I have not been able to get a job with my degree in Quantity Surveying. Consequently, I intend to go to grad school for a degree that would build on my foundation in construction engineering and management and yet offer optimum versatility in the current economy. Your suggestion/advise is very much appreciated. Thanks

I will bet entering my sophomore year this fall at Clarkson. I am a female and am majoring in engineering and management with a minor in mechanical engineering. I absolutely love this major, it is a lot of work but I enjoy it. But the problem is, I don't know what specific job titles or what specific direction I can go in with this degree, because it is so broad. I want to be an engineer but I love the business side of it as well. If anybody has any ideas or experience as to what I can do with my degree that would be wonderful! Thank you!

I've been a software developer for a number of years, and in my last two jobs, I found that I was smarter than my manager, or even VP of Engineering, and can do their job better than them. I've tried applying for management jobs at other companies, and nobody takes my resume seriously since I haven't been a manager. I don't have an MBA, and don't plan on getting one. Any suggestions?

I got admission for MS in Engg Mgmt program and I want to specialize in Product and Project Mgmt. I did not find enough reviews of this program or PM career path in general on the web. I work full time as a Software Engineer. I want to know if this program is worth going full time by quitting my day time job or its recommended to do it in the part time, or its not worth spending $30,000 on this program. Please provide your inputs on both a) Engineering Management program at Santa Clara Univ and b) Program Management area as a career for a software engineer with 3 years of experience. Thanks for your time!

I'm currently a college student studying engineering. My plan is to join the Coast Guard Reserve during my summer break after my second year of school and then attempt OCS after graduating to become an officer in the Reserve. I have two questions; will being a reserve in the coast guard seriously affect the amount of time I can devote to my education and will being an officer in the reserve help or hinder me in finding an engineering job? I'm not talking like an hourly wage job that doesnt require an education, I'm talking about a corporate administration/management job.
