I know there are jobs out there that aren't all paper work but would there be a good chance that if I become an environmental engineer I'll be stuck with job where I'm in an office doing paper work almost all the time?

I can't decide on what major to follow. The subjects between Civil and Environmental seem to be very similar. I haven't seen many jobs advertised in Environmental Engineering compared to Civil Engineering. Is Environmental Engineering going to help me get a job when I graduate or is it just a rubbish degree and is it just best to stick to Civil?

I've been working for years within the tv business but I'd like to get involved in something else I enjoy which is urban farming. I have a communications degree but I'm wondering if I need to get another degree in environmental engineering. Is there another way of getting a career in urban farming that doesn't necessarily involve going back to school? At this point I simply can't afford to go back. However, I'm more than willing to put in the effort into getting into urban farming but after having had a career for so long I want to make sure I maximize all the ways I can learn urban farming without having to have the degree.
