Nuclear Job Questions & Answers

So, i'm joining the AFB, and I really can't decide what job i would want, i took my ASVAB, and I'm qualified for any job I want, minus nuclear jobs. Is there any non mechanical, or physically demanding jobs in the Air force that would allow me to get into Macdill Air force base in Tampa Florida. I really want to go there, which job would give me a higher chance.

I'm a welding student in college right now and I'm looking at the US Navy as an option. I'm told by many that the US Navy has done significant research in welding technology with regards to the nuclear sector. What jobs are out there, both in potions as an enlisted man and an officer. Truthfully, on the Navy website I can not find any welding careers.

Where do we have a shortage of qualified workers that wouldn't be easy to just outsource or hire illegals? And jobs that don't require me to go back to school for a long time. I have a fairly useless BA in Fine Arts. I'd say health because many will be dying from famine and disease. I can't say education or retail because there will be less needs for such with a reduced population. Any other tips? Please non-sheople in the know!! Thanks!

It works on nuclear subs and the like, why isn't this being used to power cities and towns? I know it employs a dangerous risk, but truth be told one is more likely to die in a car crash to or from work than from a nuclear meltdown. Is it just not as cost effective as people once thought? Did the current green movement halt this idea? What happened?

Nuclear powerplants are very dangerous places and only smart people are allowed to work there. One wrong move and it could be a catrastrophy. So why then do they allow Homer Simpson to work there. He is clearly an incognizant, inept, buffoon of a man. And whats worse, he is the saftey supervisor. How does a nuclear accident like this get a possition that important?

I find Nuclear technology fascinating. I learned in 5th grade the principles of how Nuclear reactors work. I really would enjoy working around Nuclear reactors and hazardous chemicals and not the noxious gases my roommates emit or the food they cook.

I know because we are at war, combat is obviously at the top of the list, but what other jobs are in high demand? I'm currently scheduled to meet with my recruiter but was wondering if someone on here currently in knew what's high in demand. I'm currently looking at Intelligence positions which I know are most likely highly competitive. I scored an 83 AFQT on the ASVAB at my High School. I am currently looking at ROTC. The branch I am looking at the closest is the Army, but if anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear. Thank you.
