Right now my focus is Human Resource Management for my Business degree but I was wondering if I should pick a different major. I would love a job somewhere in education maybe as a principal, or maybe a government job since I was in the military. Accounting is just too much math for me. Will I be able to find any good jobs with a Human Resource degree in the NY area or should I change?

I'm wondering if it's worth mentioning, or would be problematic for not mentioning my first job. I was in High School and worked at a Quiznos. Didn't get fired or quit for anything stupid. The place just went out of business eventually, but anywho. Is it worth mentioning this? I worked there for about a year.

I'm planning on quitting my job early in 2007. I am fully vested in my employer's 401k plan and am entitled to a match of 3?f my salary for 2006. Typically, my employer deposits the full match in April of the following year (2007, in this case). If I quit before the money is deposited, am I still entitled to the match since it was fully accrued at the end of 2006? I've seen a lot of information regarding the vesting itself, but nothing in reference to the logistics around the timing of the payout.

A 2009 study by the Brookings Institution found that between 1998 and 2006, jobs shifted away from the center and to the periphery in 95 out of 98 leading metropolitan regions—from Dallas and Los Angeles to Chicago and Seattle. Walter Siembab, a planning consultant, calls the process of creating sustainable work environments on the urban periphery “smart sprawl.” Super-fuel-efficient cars of the future are likely tospur smart sprawl. They may be a more reasonable way to meet environmental needs than shifting back to the mass-transit-based models of the industrial age; just 5 percent of the U.S. population uses mass transit on a daily basis.

I heard that although architects earn around 50k or 60k per year, they get big money on contracts (like 300k per contract) and they can do around 3 per year. (so that's like almost 1 million per year). is that right? If architects only get 50k per year, why are they seen at the same level as lawyers and doctors who earn much more?

I have heard of people and have seen directors that supposedly make a ton of cash but I just don't see how from selling makeup. I am not puting it down. Just tell me how to make money at it because it sure seems like it would beat a desk job plus I could be with my kids more.
