| Is it possible get full-time employment in structural engineering? Or are most of the positions available for contracted positions so your contracted for a couple of years? What kinda of civil engineering jobs are full-time? Do civil engineers have to consistenly look for new work and move from city to city or can they work for a companny that looks for new projects after one is completed andd just keep working on new projects for the one company.

 | I don't understand how oil and gas industry has anything to do with electrical engineering jobs??
Am I not seeing this because currently I am working as a electronics engineer ?
This is how I am thinking about this - Oil and gas industry , digs up oil , provides it to our cars and trucks so they can run. Now I don't understand how or where "Electrical engineers" come into play into this ?? Please make me understand. I want to know.
P.s: I am an entry level electronics engineer, with a degree in "Electrical engineering" , Currently I am located in Houston, texas.

 | I've been reading a lot about engineering jobs and was surprised to find that there's very little calculus being used in many of them. I like advanced math and I'm heading to engineering college next year (after I complete my prerequisites at a 2-year college) and was wondering what sort of jobs for computer science & engineering grads use a lot of math? I'm interested in working on anything really high-tech. Anything to do with physics simulations or graphics, or cutting edge IC design.

| I'm a high school student who is great at math, and absolutely rocked geometry, but physics enters my brain and accelerates out faster than you can say "DOH!" So, what engineering jobs and college majors would be good to take a look at?

 | I am a recent graduate and I'm having problems finding what the tasks of some of the entry level mechanical engineering jobs actually are. I know there's jobs such as application engineers or service engineers. I was hoping that maybe somebody could give me a list and a brief description of what the jobs on the list ask of the employee to do. Any help would be much appreciated.

| Is University role really important for engineering jobs ?
I have heard that it is really important that Individual job seekers should pursue there engineering studies in a good university which has good ranks and graduates rate of employment . Are all the universities the same ? I have majorly heard it now when i came to study in UK . Is it neccessary for going for the best ? We can be best in the certain fields we are ... What do you say ?

| I am planning to study civil engineering in University of British Columbia (UBC) and then go back to Taiwan to find a engineering job there. Is a Canadian university degree from UBC going to be useful in finding a job in Taiwan. I want to work in Taiwan and find a girlfriend from Taiwan.

 | I'm studying Electrical Engineering in college, but I'm worried about all the outsourcing. I am particularly interested in things like embedded design and communication, but I am mainly opened to any. I really want to be a design engineer though. I ask myself how can design engineering jobs be outsourced when in design engineering the design is coming from a person's imagination? Engineering jobs will always be plentiful in the US, right?

 | I'm planning on becoming an environmental engineer but many of the environmental engineering jobs I've been hearing about are mostly consisted of paperwork. I know there are jobs out there that aren't all paper work but would there be a good chance that if I become an environmental engineer I'll be stuck with job where I'm in an office doing paper work almost all the time?

 | Hello, I was wondering if a physics degree, with a concentration in microelectronics, would be a viable degree for an engineering job. I am very interested in electronics, however my college doesn't have an engineering program, but it has this degree. I'd love to be an electrical engineer, working with electronics, but I don't want to get out of college just to find out that the physics degree leaves me unemployable as an engineer. I'd take a few engineering electives to complement the degree too.

| I live in the United States, and I plan on getting an education here, but I want to move to either France or the UK. I plan to study engineering primarily, and have a side carear in writing. Are engineering jobs competitive in these two areas? Are the expected salaries higher or lower than what I would expect in the United States?

| Hi my fiance is majoring in genetic engineering and about to get her bachelors in it. In my opinion and from research the job opportunities are very little in this field. So i have 2 questions.
1) with a genetics engineering job would she be able to do all engineering jobs or just genetic stuff
2) If she goes to get her masters is it possible for her to change her type of engineering degree such as to a biomedical engineer or is it to late?

| I am studying to be a mechanical engineer, specializing in automotive. I have an internship set up with Ford next summer. I was wondering how the engineering jobs are in England. I like adventures and the culture, so I really wouldn't mind living there for a while and working. What would be the easiest way after I graduate to look for a job there? And how are the working conditions there?

| I am currently employed as a structural automotive engineer at one of the big 3 carmakers. I've specialized in exterior sheet metal deformation along with evaluating the structural integrity of the underlying metal skeleton. I have also been heavily involved with exterior plastic components such as fascia, bumpers and body side moldings.
Outside of crash testing, what other types of engineering jobs exist in the car insurance industry? Could it be used to determine whether a damaged vehicle is salvageable?
