Executive Director Job Questions & Answers

I was recently tapped to become the Executive Director of the Human Rights Commission in my City's government. I am leary about accepting the job because I am afraid that I will be labeled as a government worker and not be able to get into the private sector in something I am more interested in. I am 27 years old and hold a BA in Economics, an MS in MIS, and will finish my MBA in May. What should I do? I am very interested in banking and finance.

I know this is not right but I have been in this assistant job for about 1 year and he is this new executive director for 3 months. He is 11 years older than I am, besides, he has a gf, who he has been with for about 7 years. I see him every single day, there is no way I can avoid him or keep distance. What should I do? How could I suppress my feelings toward him? Help!

I currently work in City government for a capital city. In my less than three years there, I have been promoted twice, basically doubling the money I started in. My most recenty promotion will place me as Executive Director of a high visibility division. I am only 27 year old, will be graduating with my second masters (an MBA) and want to get into banking or finance before I get too comfortable. This job I am moving into with the City pretty much as high as I can go. How do I get out?

If the allegation is true that she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan for his reluctance to fire her ex-brother-in law rather than a legitimate reason, this would show that she abused her power. Palin claimed she dismissed him for poor work performance. If so, then why did she offer him another job as executive director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board? She turned around and appointed his replacement, Chuck Kopp, who was investigated for sexual harassment. Forget her "experience"; do you want her to be VP or President (if McCain dies) if this is true?
