Serious question, what job is high pay and would potentially get you to £100 million or more over a period of around 20 years or shorter even. I was thinking Investment Banker, but do they even make that much? You'd have to be like the managing director or something, and please don't say singer or something along those lines nor something like create a social networking site. And please note, I mean this as in savings. So please take into account that I need to eat, pay bills and whatever else. [But not anything on the house as it's fully owned by us.] -If anyone is wondering, one of my dreams is to build a hotel hence the insane amount of money needed.

How much can someone expect to make in asset management, especially at a top firm like Goldman Sachs? What are the levels someone can advance to, like from analyst to portfolio manager, and then what's after that? Managing director? Is the job high stress? Do people who work in asset management work longer/harder than investment bankers? Also, what are the educational requirements? Do you need to be a CFA or can you have a degree in economics or business?

A customer wants me to produce a set of business cards for them but instead of "proprietor" they want a different title. I don't know what other titles exist. Managing director doesn't suit. So maybe consultant or something?

I work for a newly incorporated company which account for atleast a billion thousands of money equivalent to its country's currency.I find that customers it is currently servicing are only family members of the managing director. What could be the logic behind this?I also discovered that these members tend to overlook workers in such a way that when working people don't find all that happiness for being at workplace. As much as i know from experience,a business is totaly a seperate entity from its owners, even if the MD is the owner there is a provision atleast to make there own workers feel there doing a job intended for. There is need for workers to put in there academic skills which trained for,but all thee are being surpassed. Please help me with legal actions that can be put in place to let this not happen. L2000

I have dreamed of going to university for ages to study marketing. A lot of teachers say extra curricular things help a lot. I play the flute, piano, a member of two orchestra, a flute group and a choir, some in and out of school. I am also a managing director of a young enterprise company, as well as a prefect. I also have a part time job as a waitress. I'm just wondering if this would be substantial to talk about in my application or do I need more? And what else can help improve my chances of getting into university? I did work experience last year in a marketing department so that shows I have been willing for a long time? And I'm hoping to go back to a marketing department somewhere in the summer. Live in the UK

I am working as a Personal Assistant for a Managing Director of a huge listed company. I have just tendered my resignation and wish to have this record updated on my resume but working for only 6 months wouldn't look good on my record (jumpy) unless if I have a good reason. The real reason is because of too much office politics but can't expose the truth for it is unprofessional. My immediate employer is a notable tycoon of a huge empire in my country. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Reason for Leaving = ?

I am the deputy editor of a magazine and I am under stress because the editor, who got the job by default, is totally incompetent. She doesn't listen to anyone else, has no opinion on anything and is utterly disorganized, refusing to adhere to our plans, despite orders from the bosses. She's been doing this for over 2 years now. Our publisher, who is aware of her behaviour, apparently asked a colleague what they thought about her the other day and this person told him straight. However, she is never dealt with properly and I don't think the bosses want to face up to the fact that she can't do the job. I want to make an official complaint as I am close to quitting, but should I email, write a letter or do it face to face to be taken most seriously? Also, should I address the publisher (who manages the magazine department) or the managing directors of the company?

This is a tricky one as I am currently working for a semi-family run company. A couple of members of my step-family are managing directors but there are also other people in managerial positions. They gave me this job 3.5 years ago when I had been unemployed for nearly 1.5 years when the recession was at it's worst so I really appreciated being given a chance! When I first started here, I was only employed to be someone's assistant but over the years I have been given a lot more responsibility and I mean a lot more! I am not being big headed when I say this but they would be pretty screwed if I wasn't here and people have even said that directly to me. I have taken on pretty much a whole department of the company with little to no help and I still assist with other general duties which need completing. I think that the management actually think I am an octopus because there is no way a normal human being could get through the work load that I get given. I do the best I can to keep on top of things and I get annoyed with myself because I don't like to let people down but i have realised that it's not my fault. I simply have too much work for one person. I do all this for a very VERY low wage. I won't give exact figures but it wouldn't surprise me for a 16 year old to be on these wages and be a bit annoyed! I am 24 by the way. The company as a whole is very disorganised, by far there aren't enough staff for the workload and as far as I can tell, nobody is on the type of money they should be for the amount of work we do. My boyfriend and I live hand to mouth and are always wondering why we have so much less money than our friends and cannot afford to go out and do the stuff they do.....Well it's because I don't earn enough. My boyfriend has been in his job for 5 years and is currently looking for something else as his company have pretty much said there is no room for progression and he won't be getting a pay rise any time soon. My place is the same, as much as I do get the odd little perk such as a company mobile phone and it being a pretty relaxed place to work, it's not enough. I have been categorically told that they will not be hiring any more staff which leads me to believe I also won't be getting a pay rise any time soon and I know that EVERY ONE here wants more money. I was curious so have had a little look on some jobsites. There seem to be a lot more jobs out there nowadays and it seems like I could be on a LOT higher wage for a LOT less responsibility. Don't get me wrong, I like having responsibility but my current job take the pi** with the amount I am expected to do. Especially for such a crappy wage! So I am wondering firstly if it's a good idea for both my boyfriend and I to leave relatively secure jobs at the same time? I don't want to end up with one of us being unemployed / made redundant etc for being the last one in, first one out! We generally don't seem to be having much luck in life at the moment so it's the sort of thing that would happen to us! And secondly, I want to know if I should make my current employers aware that I am looking for something else? I want to be honest with them because they gave me a chance when nobody else would but I also know they will try and get me to stay. The thing is though, they would need to give me a £2.5K per annum pay rise for me to be on the absolute minimum amount that I would ideally like to be on which i don't think is going to happen! I want to be honest with them so that they would have time to find a replacement but what if I don't manage to find another job? I am worried it will then create an awkward atmosphere if I ended up having to stay but everyone knew I didn't really want to be there. Sorry if any of the above isn't clear - I just wanted to try and get as much info as possible in there! Thanks in advance for an advice.
