Finance Administrator Job Questions & Answers

I have just finished uni whereby I studied psychology. I plan to go on and do a Masters either this September or next September depending on my finance situation. However in the meantime I am trying to find a job - just anything really, but something that will allow me to continue my voluntary work that I am currently doing that is psychology related . But I am stuck? How do you get a job in an area you do not intend to pursue a career? Basically I am stuck on writing covering letters explaining why I am applying for the position (I have been applying for administrator jobs). I will probably be even more stuck if I were to get an interview and they ask me why I want the job. Some help would be greatly appreciated. P.S temp work is not an option, I don't really have any experience. Thanks!! I know I need to lie/pretend but honestly I really don't know how to be a good lier (sic). I hate lying.

I have Salzmann's Nodular Degeneration. These nodulars cause my vision to be distorted. I see 3 of everything with my right eye and two of everything with my left eye. They are trying contact lens to help me out. It is helping for distance and the in between, but not the close up. I use readers for close up but after a very short time (about 2 hours) I can't read much of anything. I do more deciphering than reading. Currently I am an office administrator- mostly secretary so I do a lot of reading. I'm looking to do some retraining while I can still see. The career I'm looking at I will be using my distant vision and the computer, where I can increase the visiblity. All help will be appreciated.

I have the skills, qualifications and experience to apply for certain jobs. In this instance, the job is as a school administrator. Naturally, such jobs require a CRB check. I have two cautions, however, one for criminal damage and gaining entry with violence against an ex-boyfriend back in November 2008 and one for prescription forgery in July 2011. Am I wasting my time applying for such jobs? I also wish to apply for NHS secretary jobs, but as the NHS Fraud Unit investigated the July 2011 matter - should I also write those jobs off?!

I want to pick a job that will give me experience in business or financing, which would make my resume look better to companies or schools. Eventually I want to be an office administrator or something similar. What job would give me the best experience for that when I get out in 4 years? This experience plus a Bachelors or Masters degree should make me more competetive in the job hunt when I get out.

I know that you can get almost any job with a Mathematics degree, and I also that Mathematics graduates have the LOWEST levels of UNEMPLOYMENT, but which jobs can they get exactly? Specific details please? I know that you can be a maths teacher/lecturer, and that's obvious, but I really don't want to go into teaching. I also know that you can have a job in Finance and Accounting, but they are also obvious.

I have a degree in Finance and have a job dealing with people's property tax issues. I'd like to start my own business in addition where I could do financial advising at night and on the weekends. How do I do this? I don't really want to do it with an existing company but want it to be my own business.

I am looking for a career change into an IT field. I have a Bachelors in Finance, and have a beginner/intermediate level of knowledge in computers. I have been researching several different fields over the past several weeks and Network Admin has caught my attention. It also seems that certifications will open opportunities for job prospects. Another 4 year degree is out of the question. So, what paths would you IT professionals recommend? Would you entertain an Associates Degree and then move towards becoming certified in A+, CCNA, etc? Another option that is less expensive and would be a faster transition that I have come across is Ed2Go that offers a series of classes that prepares the student to take different certification exams. Obviously, the most important factor is to understand and be able to solve the issues in a job environment, as well as being qualified and marketable to re-enter the job market at an entry-mid level position. Any advice will be appreciated. I would also be interested to here about any specific certifications that are projected to be in higher demand that someone at my level would be able to attain within 2 years. Thanks!

I am 18 years old and attending a community college for 2 years then transferring to a University. Through my advise from relatives in the field of computers, i have found DBA to be a reliable job and becoming demanding in its field. I have explored and shadowed a DBA before and it seemed like a job i would actually enjoy even though it might be stressful at times. I would like some feedback or advise as to what i should start doing for my future plan to be a DBA.
