I am a server lookin for a job and I have had an issue with those personality pre-hiring test! I have a problem with the fact that they want you to answer them with your best honest answer! But everyone has got to lie on them to get them right- which they say "there is not a right or wrong answer!" Like the question: Have you ever know anyone to steal anything? The answer should be NO! But everyone has known someone- I don't care if you are Jesus Christ- you known of someone that has stolen even if it was a candy bar or a dime from mom! Theres the test that are true or false answers which I've come across those a few times. I usually run across the strongly agree-strongly disagree test! I'm good with the easy no brained questions like : do you feel like punching somebody in the face when they are being annoying ( not a real question but simmiliar!)? Of you wouldn't answer yes at a possible new job! (even tho you have felt that way at some point!) but when thy ask questions that you are not quite sure how to answer it or what they wanna hear! Like: when you see co workers are misbehaving (slacking) do you step in and say something? (that is not how it is worded but the same outcome!) now I would say no bc really I'm not a rat ( that's if they are asking me if I would tell on them) and I am not a "teachers pet" so I'm not gonna do a managers job. And tell people what to do- now if they are effecting everybody else then yea I would say something! So what are they asking? Do they want me to be a person who monitors my fellow employees and tells managers who is bein good or bad. Or do they want someone who doesn't tattle tell on others? There are a few questions that I can't figure out what they are looking for! Maybe I analyze them too much that it screws up my answers?! I took a test today called BHI security level! (Batrus Hollweg International-apparently they are popular choice for restaurant pre hiring test!) does anyone know how to pass BHI? Help I understand the reason behind these test! (They want honest good people to work for them!) Some of the questions are tricky, tho! And there are right and wrong answers bc they got an answer sheet for the questions! It's a bunch of BS!! How can one honestly know what kind of personality another has by these test? A manager at one of the many restaurants I applied at said the test described him to a T he sweared they are accurate! Whatever!! I just want a job as a server not as a cop or president of united states!

I am conducting a job search using the main job search sites (Monster and Careerbuilder), my alumni office and my network. Are there any other recommendations for other career search sites for manager/director level jobs. Many are geared towared high school level graduates or hourly. If it helps, I am in IT / Business Strategy and have a MBA. Thanks in advance.

Not just IT projects, but all kinds. Is years of experience a prerequisite? Or can you get by if you know the subject backwards? Or do you need sound managerial skills? Why would a person with these skills / abilities go for the uncertainty and heartburn of project execution, instead of holding down a line manager's job? In short, what does it take, and what makes 'em tick?

I know you have to take your coaching badges, but then what? I mean when you see managers take jobs now days the clubs approach them, so how would you get involved, btw I'm not an idiot, I know I'm not going to become Barcalona manager as my first job, I realise I will have to start small.

I know that you can get almost any job with a Mathematics degree, and I also that Mathematics graduates have the LOWEST levels of UNEMPLOYMENT, but which jobs can they get exactly? Specific details please? I know that you can be a maths teacher/lecturer, and that's obvious, but I really don't want to go into teaching. I also know that you can have a job in Finance and Accounting, but they are also obvious.

I just started my job a little under a month ago. I know a 'shift leader' needs to know how to do all the positions (cook, drive through, front cashier), count the drawers, do the cash drop, count inventory, and waste. Is there anything else I would need to know? I currently work at a set schedule, if i became a shift leader, would that change? Are there any tests or time requirements for the position? Thanks!

My brother has been working the same job since he graduated from college.. He has been with the same company, sitting in the same office, doing the same tasks, has the same boss and his pay has gone up 4? year. He is at the top of his pay grade. Now the company is in financial trouble and there may be layoffs. Because he is paid at the top of his pay grade he is likely to be laid off. If you were an employer what would you think of an applicant who has worked for only one employer in his whole life? Would he be considered steady, predictable and consistent. Or would be be unemployable because he is stagnant?
