VP Engineering Job Questions & Answers

I've been a software developer for a number of years, and in my last two jobs, I found that I was smarter than my manager, or even VP of Engineering, and can do their job better than them. I've tried applying for management jobs at other companies, and nobody takes my resume seriously since I haven't been a manager. I don't have an MBA, and don't plan on getting one. Any suggestions?

I am pursuing a position as a product manager for web services at a Bay Area company. I will be working closely with business leads and engineers and will be reporting to one of the company's VP:s. I have a computer science background and about 4 years experience. I currently hold a similar position. What is the typical salary for such a position? Note: this regards a "social web" service rather than an enterprise product.

Why? BTW every time I apply for a job I have to show proof of citizenship, and I was born in the US. I didn't have to do that before there were millions of illegals. I'm white not Hispanic.

Most people have the hardest times finding a job dealing with their majors but i really want to know why no one hires them and wonder why its hard to have a good replacement after their employee retires after 20 or 30 years.

I am an Engineer and I was in New York City on a project for 6 month. What I noticed in the banking industries people get promotions so fast. In Engineering industries Vice Presidents and Directors usually have over 15 years of industry experience. In financial industries seems like everyone get the Director and Vice President title after 3 years of experience. In NYC I met people that had only 3 years of experience and had those titles with salaries over $120,000. It made me think that I made the wrong choice by being an Engineer... Engineers dont make any money :-(

Why did the Bush presidency allow privatization of the military and almost all the war contracts go to Halliburton? Dick Cheney had quit his executive job there when he became the VP. Are most Republicans profiting from continual wars?
