I hold a B.A. in the liberal arts and have no job experience in finance. I do however, spend a lot of time trading and researching with my equities and forex accounts. What entry-level finance jobs are out there for college graduates with a background outside of finance and accounting?

Compared to a finance job with a Finance degree? I think Economics majors are uniquely qualified because they can understand markets in ways finance majors can't... What do you think?

My wife is being relocated to Los Angeles, California permanently which requires me to leave my current Finance job in Manhattan, New York. I have a BS in Finance and +2 years working in the financial industry. Working in the financial industry, I know California's economy is one of the worst in the U.S. however I would like to get the opinion of locals on the job market, specifically the financial job market.

My schools having a finance job fair Tuesday night. I'm a little nervous and not too sure what to expect. Do I want to ask a lot of questions? Or do I want to gain as much information as possible from as many companies as possible? I tend to get a little nervous and shy but I realize for my own well-being I will have to leave that at that door . Thanks for any help. I almost forgot to mention, if it matters that I graduate next month w/ a Bachelors in Finance.

I have a bachelors degree in Finance from an accredited business school. I graduated top of my class in Finance. I also hold a bachelors degree in Business Management. I have a decent gmat score. My wife is attending Univ of Texas for a PhD. We are moving to Austin in less than a month and I will be looking for a finance job, preferably something that will help me pursue my cfa and an mba. I prefer a financial analyst position. No sales.

Yea what type of entry-level Banking & Finance jobs should someone start out with If they want to start their own Private Equity Firm one day because I was thinking about..probably graduating from college then work 2 years then go to Business School hopefully Harvard...n then working another 3 years or more then starting it with someone.

I am finishing up a BS in management/finance and debating the CFA program. I work in a non-finance job but would like to change careers. Would the CFA certification greatly increase my chances of a job in the finance sector? Do CFAs make significantly more than non-CFA finance experts?

I have heard that its a bad idea because I would be over qualified for any entry level finance jobs, but that just does not seem right to me. I would think it would look GOOD to have a masters degree. I would have some experience at a bank as a teller and an internship as well but no real big amount of experience. Please help, I'm so confused!

I see alot of finance job with edward jones and smith barney and such. Most of these companies have jobs available but most of them require 5 years of experience. What type of jobs should I look for after college to get this experience and still make good money. Ill be getting a bachelors and then an MBA depending on how things go after college.
