Associate Restaurant Manager Job Questions & Answers

I am a current restaurant manager who works the typical 50 hrs/week with no set schedule. I am interested in getting my associate's degree in business and just looking for some folks that have done this before that can give me a little advice. Should I quit my current job and find one that gives me a set schedule? Etc.

I don't want to be in school for 8 years but I want something with depth that can get me a good pay and fast. I have an Associate's degree and am currently a restaurant manager. The reason I posed this question was because I am working a tough 65+ hour schedule (including weekends and late nights) and I want something with better hours but high pay as well.

I want to go back to college and major in Computer Information Systems. I already have an associates degree in MIS but that was 10 years ago. I also did websites back then but things changed when I got a job in a completely different field. I have been a restaurant manager for the last few years but I really really need a change. What do you think?

The only skill I really have is music. I've been a manager for a few years but I dont want to try and do that and go to school full time. I would like something where I could study on the job. Something low stress. Something that offers good health insurance. I will have an associates degree in math or music or english (my choice after I finish spanish) in the summer. What do you think?

I have a resume and I keep it updated. I have a Bachelors in Management and an Associate in Accounting. Ten years ago, I owned my own delivery service and prior to that I managed a temporary nursing service. I was also a restaurant manager for more than a decade. What else can I do to get a permanent job, since I am not interested in going back to school?

Ok so I am planning on going to the mall tomorrow to apply for a few jobs and put resumes in. There are a couple of places I know of that are for sure hiring but would it be okay to even apply anywhere else that I would like to work even if they have not advertised to hire? Or would that just be a waste of time? What about restaurants? I'd like either a hostess job or a sales associate job

I am getting my associates degree in June and In July/August, I will have my EMT license. EMT's make diddly squat, so I am wondering what else can I do? I get married in August and my husband and I want to have kids within 3 years of getting married. Also getting a bachelors degree is too costly. Luckly my hubby to be has a good job, but what can I do?

I work for a restaurant that illegally operates without workers compensation insurance in CA. I was recently hurt on the job and wanted to get medical condition and my manager pleaded with me not to go. I found out that one of the reasons why is because they don't have workers compensation insurance which is required by california law.

I have 2 years experience with a restaurant. 4 years experience in child care. No experience in retail. I left my last job with 11.00 and hour, considering retail. Does anyone know how much places like Old Navy, Juicy Couture, Francesca's, Bath and Body works, Victoria Secret pay? I'm scared on the big pay cut but I LOVE fashion, love making my own jewelry and hair Accessories. Hmm. Roughly how much do these places pay?
