I applied for a job with my local sheriffs office. I applied for a job as a "Alcohol Breath Analysis Technician trainee". The minimum requirements is a GED/Diploma and good typing skills. I currently work as a fast food cook and i am only 20 years old. I am looking for a better job to help with my car payments while being able to help out my mom financially.

Just wondering. My friend is 17 and he has really bad cholesterol. And the thing is, he isn't even overweight...He is very skinny (I always expect someone with bad cholesterol to be overweight). He eats fast food all the time and that is why he has this problem. I have been trying to get him to stop eating fast food...cooking him a healthy dinner when I get the chance (he is raised by his mother who works two jobs, so she doesn't cook, only brings Wendy's or Burger King home for him). Please help me. Thank you.

I work at the counter (packing boxes, taking orders etc) at a fast food restaurant. Could just being in that environment make my acne worse? I don't cook any of the food near the fryers what so ever, the most cooking i'll do is making sides for meals, and I don't have to be at the fryers for that. Please give me as much information as you can and give me tips! I just got this job and I don't want to quit but I REALLY don't want acne. What should I do?

Ok so I'm 20 years old. I go to college and I work so my schedule is rather busy. I live with my parents but they work to so home cooked meals is like maybe once a week. Everyday I been eating fast food to get by specifically McDonald's. I'm getting tired of it and honestly it's worrying me to eat it everyday because I know it's bad for you. Since I'm 20 should I worry about the problems that accompany eating fast food everyday? Like clogging of the arteries? I'm also rather short for my age. I'm 5 foot 4 and I weigh 150. My next question is what's a more healthy alternative to eating on a busy schedule?

You would think that most fast food employees hate their job. With that in mind, do they transfer that negative ill will into the food they prepare? I had this really bad feeling biting into a breakfast sandwich from one of these places... has anyone else felt this way?

Working at a desk job all day packed about 20 pounds onto my 5'6 frame. I used to weight 155 but was always told that I looked more like 120 (I have huge breasts [dd's] but was slim & muscular otherwise.) I was always complaining about how 'fat' I was...now I wish I could get back down to that and then some! For about a month Ive been going to the gym 5 days a week doing 30-45 minutes of the elliptical machine or treadmill, then weights, and eating absolutely NO fast food. I cook my own healthy meals and eat according to portion size, and I dont skip meals because I was told that can backfire. So Ive been doing this and still havent seen any dramatic weight loss more than maybe 3 pounds & loose clothing (but nothing too dramatic.) I really want to see results to keep me motivated and I dont know what else I could or should be doing? I hear things like, drink more water or just eat less, but I am stuck here!

I don't have any experience working retail jobs, but I'm considering a job as a cashier. I did a CareerCritique search on it and found this review (the one posted by DCGirl): http://www.careercritique.com/addcomments.php?cid=45 Are the pay and hours typical for this sort of fast food cashier job? I know I don't want to be a fast food cook haha!

Asking on behalf of a friend seeking work in grocery, fast food, waitressing, line cook positions, or other basic employ. She has had a lot of difficulty and I don't know if that's just the economy or if the tattooes may be an issue. They are not very big but they are there just the same. And if they are a potential liability, are there particular jobs that may be more "tattoo-friendly"? I hope to get more answers, but the answers so far are much appreciated. I hope to get more answers, but the answers so far are much appreciated. Also, would flesh-covered ink tattoos to cover up the old tattoos be a feasible alternative? I would hope that the bartending option was feasible, but I am curious about their options. Thanks again!

A friend of mine, a lady who is a decent cook, has told me that her husband is so used to eating out that he no longer craves a hamburger, he craves a Hardee's hamburger, that he no longer wants chili, he wants Skyline Chili, and so on. All the eating out he has always done as a bachelor and as an eat and run guy on the job has trained him well to think of home-made food as less appealing and less 'real' than the fake concoctions you buy at fast food joints. My question is this: Have you ever faced this situation, and did you manage to conquer it? If so, how? By the way, part of the equation is that her family likes to eat someplace on a spur of the moment decision. They don't like planning, which also makes home-cooking hard to do. They can have Mom cook it for an hour, or they can hit the drive through and start eating right away. She is having a hard time selling them on home-made food, all around. In advance, thanks for thinking about this problem and sharing your experience.

I only eat it once a week because I do not want fast food to be the only jobs available in the future. I am not saying eating out is bad but I am saying I know I don't want to work fast food. Have you noticed Mcdonalds and most fast food places are the only thing that's hiring?

I currently work in fast food. Making a tad over 8 an hour. However I'm interviewing with a casual chain establishment. I was wondering what that may pay for an entry level line cook?

I'm 19 with no work experience. I tried to apply at several retail stores but didn't hear anything back. Is it hard to even get a fast food job in this economy? I'm considering applying at Del Taco, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box etc.

So i'm applying for a job at a fast food restaurant and on the application it asks me which position I'm applying for. I just want a part time position doing whatever, cook, cashier, whatever they have there that is available. But I was told never to put "any available" when they ask this question. I was wondering what I should put for Position Applied for, which will give me the best chance of getting hired.
