 | I had an interview Thursday the 4th and now it's Thursday the 11th! They were hiring 3 dishwashers and my interview went pretty good. The head cook showed me what to do and how the dishwashers worked. Then he said he'll call me and as i was walking back to my car he stopped me and asked if I can talk to the head dishwasher. I said sure so he introduced me then went back in. I was talking about how this job would be great for me and he was super cool! Then at the end he said he'll put in a good word for me then I was really happy cause I thought it was a guarantee that I got the job. But it's been a whole week and I haven't heard anything, so should I start applying to other places or wait a little bit longer? Thanks everyone

 | Suppose there is a Women Studies graduate applying for several jobs. A few companies that look at her resume automatically put her in the reject pile over concerns that she'll intentionally cause problems in the workplace. They see the degree as a red flag for lawsuits.
She ends up working as the head fry cook at McDonald's. Is this below her pay grade? Or just right since there is an over supply of college graduates these days and her education doesn't make her any more special than a high school graduate?

 | Okay so my cousin is the head line cook and he got me hired because of the chef. I've worked at that restaurant for 1 week and my back hurts. I want to quit, but I don't want to hurt my cousin's reputation at that job. It's pretty stressful and I have work on Wednesday. I'm also a full time college student and I close every time I work. I get home at 1-2 then I have 8am classes the next day. What should I do?

 | I worked as a cook in two restaurants this past year, in CT. One place didn't withhold any personal income tax. Another only paid the social security tax and a medicare tax, and that was it. Apparently all I get back after taxes is $9? I am very confused.

 | I have been out of college for about two years now and have worked a lot of random jobs like receptionist, gym member specialist, personal home cook, etc... -the kinds of jobs I don't need a degree for. I graduated with a degree that is probably more geared toward consulting than a skill related field. What other kinds of jobs should I apply for?

 | Vehicle recently purchased from owner who did not take very good care of it. It overheated and apparently head was damaged. Automatic transmission also has problems and I am debating weather the cost of repairing it is more than the car is worth. Would the car be worth more if sold for parts, assuming of course that the cost to repair it is too much?

 | I currently work at a warehouse and absolutely hate the job, and I'm thinking about working as a cook at a higher end restaurant. However, after thinking about it, it seems like working as a cook is very similar to working at a warehouse. Taking specific items and moving them to another spot and never really seeing the satisfaction on customers' faces seem like components of both jobs. Is there anyone who could give me advice on what to do? Thanks in advance.
I'm still in highschool, so I'm not expecting to do this for more than a few months.

Just curious to know how do people land up being food show, or cookery show hosts. I mean all of them aren't professional chefs? Also, I would like more career ideas from you'll in the food business. Also how does one become a food critic? Are there any courses?
