I'm trying to get ideas of what i want to be when im older. How much does a forensic scientist (doing the job Abby does in NCIS) make a year? And how long do you have to go to school to become a forensic scientist? Do you think it's worth even going to school and doing all the work for the salary that they make? thanks :]

I am following an associate in science degree in criminal justice technology but I don't know what is the best bachelor degree that I can take, I have many courses of chemistry and biology, and I would like to work in and off the scene and the crime lab, if I want to work in both places, what would be the best field for me? I heard that a forensic scientist is a better remunerated job but I wouldn't like to work only in a laboratory and I want to participate in the investigations fully. thank you

Just curious as I want a job in that field in the future, I want to help track criminals and have heard that both Forensic Scientists and Psychologists get about 5 years as a Police Officer, which is also a career choice I am considering, as practice, to get to understand the system. So, which would be my best bet? For helping catch the 'Bad Guys' (: Any replies, I am extremely thankful.

What are some similar jobs that have to do with crime and law?
