I own a wood boiler that I put in service in 2009 that is eligible for $1500 federal energy efficiency tax credit. I installed the complete system myself and I am not in the hvac business what so ever. If I ever get audited, how do I show proof of it being placed in service if I installed it myself? My understaning is the credit is for when placed in sevice, not when purchased, as it was bought earlier and have receipt of that.

You have to have 100,000 jobs created just to keep up with population growth 14 million Americans are un employeed and have been longer than any other recession. This is the longest deepest recovery ever. Also the last 2 jobs reports had to be revised downward -44,000 jobs. Making 18,000 jobs a month when 100,000 new people are coming into the work force is not a recovery is a disaster waiting to happen.

Congress has broad powers to regulate trade, interstate commerce, fund education and jobs programs to help people transition from declining occupation to those in demand, and to fund public works programs to help rebuild America's aging infrastructure or to create programs to develop technologies that will help the US be competitive on the world market. If you could write a bill, what would it be about?

I'd like to get some of your opinions. First, I like to state some facts. If anyone knows anything about history, it is common knowledge that America became the worlds most powerful country after we claimed independence and adopted the fundamentals of the Constitution. In under 200 years of civilization, America became the worlds number one super power. There are civilizations on this planet that are thousands of years old that haven't accomplished a fraction of what we have. We can all agree on this fact, right? Capitalism was at its strongest during this time; Low taxes, free markets and a very limited government. So why can't everybody agree that it was capitalism that made this the best and safest country on the planet to live? As government started getting more powerful throughout the more recent decades, the quality of living has decreased dramatically. This being said, how can people vote for Obama when he wants to fundamentally change this country and expedite our transition in to socialism?

Just a few obvious examples: Not allowing "Buy American" provisions for govt spending... Not allowing us to end the tax incentive for business's that offshore our labor.... Not allowing tax revenue increase which lead directly to the Tea Party downgrade... Would our economic situation be better if Republicans were not in the way of recovery? exp girl - Have you ever heard of a filibuster?

I want to go to school to become a large animal veterinarian but incase it doesn't work out my mom wants me to have a back up plan. I want to stay in the agriculture field and still be able to work with animals but I don't know what other jobs are available. I want to work with the horses, cows, pigs, chicken, and all the farm animals if possible. If I cant make it into vet school, I may consider becoming an agriculture teacher but it doesn't pay well. If anyone knows of other job options please let me know! thanks!

I'm a fifteen year old looking into my options as a career. Before you give the "You're too young" speech, please note that I will be graduating next year. I recently took an aptitude test and discovered that I would fit in well in law, especially being a tax attorney, which is ironic because I was thinking about being that. However, I was afraid that a job like that would only provide with business during tax season. I also think it would be boring to practice only one type, as I would like to also practice adoption, DUI, family matters and business partnerships. I have been searching the internet and have not been able to find really what I am looking for, and my parents went to college online so they aren't the biggest help in this process.I appreciate you taking the time to help a little teenager create her future.

I will start very soon at the seasonal tax examiner position with the IRS. I am starting to get the feeling that the tax examiner position is totally clerical in nature and has little to nothing to do with taxation. I had taken five tax courses in college and was hoping to really apply my knowledge as an examiner. I am know feeling duped by the job title. What is your experience or knowledge about this job at the IRS?
