I am a sophomore in college and my goal is to become a vet. However I'm worried if I don't get into vet school, I won't have a backup plan that I still love. What other jobs are there that I can still work in this field without resorting to a low pay vet tech?

I’m a journalism major/sociology minor in college who would like to switch over to something in law enforcement. However, aside from police officer, I’m not quite sure what else I can do in the field. I’ve taken some courses on terrorism, the prison system, and criminology. I work well under stress and love investigating things and figuring them out. However, I don’t think I’m brave enough to be a field officer. Is there any behind the scenes job in law enforcement that I could do?

Im too young to have this really be a problem...but i love animals soo much. i dont want to be a vet because i dont wanna cut animals open or do surgery... i want to work with them or care for them. i love main animals like dogs, cats, birds, reptiles etc. but i also like exotic pets like ones that are endangered. i love big cats and always have loved manatees. marine biology always seemed fun but i dont wanna just study undersea life. i like all animals and stuff idk aahhh... i dont want like too much of the science-ey stuff i like to work with animals and care for them. i always thought zoos seemed kinda crummy and yeah so not zoos or vets... any ideas? i really love shelter work and have always wanted a my own rescue group or something but idk if i could handle all the sadness... and theres places where you can take care of big cats at like reserves and the babies and they are friendly that seems awesome too i have reallyyy strong passion for animals. lol no idk why but i dont really like zoos they often are mean to the animals and they would rather be free or at a nice big reserve..... not always with people crowding them and being forced to do like tricks and stuff noo.. circuses are also very mean. trapping wildlife and hurting it and making it do tricks....i love countries answer EXACTLY the kind i wanted! i think shelter work is what i have always had my heart set on... something that would be able to take in dogs, cats, rabbits, small animals. idk just like any animal and i would feed them and help get them adopted. im planning on volunteering with my friends because we made a group to donate money to shelters and we work well together in that stuff thank you!
