Thanks for answering.

 | I'm trying to be a counseling psychologist but I am not really sure about the classes I'm going to need. I'm aware of the years I'll have to go to school. If any of you knows, I would be thankful if you shared any information with me. Or what jobs I can get with a masters in psychology and a bachelors in counseling?

 | I've been thinking about going to University to get my PhD in Psychologist, and then getting a job as a counselling psychologist.
Do you think it is worth enduring five to seven years of school to do this?
Would you do it yourself?
Have you done it?

 | I know most of the details as far as the education requirements and pay are concerned. my main concern is the job outlooks for both. is a person with a major in school counseling able to get a job just as well as a person who is a licensed counseling psychologist? or is obtaining only the masters in school counseling a waste of time? any help would be appreciated. advice from people who have experienced this is even better! thank you!

 | I heard more and more companies and corporations are hiring clinical or counseling psychologists to provide services for their employees.
What would that position be called? I'm trying to search for job ads or information on that kind of position but don't know what to search for!
Also does anyone have any idea about how much that job would pay?

 | I'm a loner and a psychology student with aspirations to be a counseling psychologist. I've got a near perfect GPA in my major. I'm curious about people and how I can help them. People tell me I'm insightful and a good listener. I just don't need to be around people as much as most, and I enjoy my solitude. A few people have said its hypocritical for a loner like me to want to be a psychologist. That I'm not involved enough with other people to truly understand them. What would you say?

 | On a scale of 1 to 10. I'm terrible at math; I really mean that, I'm not exaggerating. I would like to go to college and become a counseling psychologist, particularly a marriage counselor or a family therapist. I know to get into a good school and career you have to know math, but how much?

 | Ok, im a senior in high school wanting to become a clinical/counseling psychologist and i don't know what to do to get a doctorate in that field.

 | Well I was just wondering the differences as I dont really understand, I'm thinking of career choice and its something I'm interested in, I was just wondering what the training consists of and whether you can specialize in more than one area - such as Clinical psychology,
Counseling psychologists and Developmental psychologists?
Also can you take a degree in animals too? But more of a behaviourist and then specialize in horses? Thanks!

 | To be brief, I want my job to mainly entail "talk therapy." I'm very interested in thought perception, self awareness, self-esteem and treating anxiety and dysfunctional/negative thoughts. I don't want to be a social worker, or guidance counsellor, I want to work with individuals (not children, maybe youth) but I don't know what kind of counseling that would be.
Just wondering if it would be worth it to become a psychologist with all that extra schooling. From what I've researched, it seems a large part of a psychologists job is to conduct studies, but like I said I'm more interested in the counseling portion.

 | For example, I'm interested in being a physician assistant and/or a counseling psychologist (Master's level). Should I go ahead and get my PA- certification then get my masters for counseling, or just choose one? Would it matter in terms of salary, as in, would it increase with two degrees/licenses?
