 | I am trying to decide what career path I should take. I am torn between a radiographer technician or a diagnostic medical sonographer. I like both careers and I have been exposed to both career fields. Could someone from the 2 fields tell me what they like and do not like about their jobs?

 | I was wondering if there are good job opportunities for a position as a ultrasonographer directly out of school. I will be looking for an entry level position right? Or do they all require that you at least have 1-2 years clinical experience? I guess what Im asking is what is the process after you get out of school with degree and certificate in hand to obtain a position as a diagnostic medical sonographer?? Thanks!

 | I'm looking into being a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, because i want a career working with pregnany people and/or babies. Ultrasounds always intreseted me, so here i am i suppose! I was wondering how often to they actually work with the pregnant people, i.e. half the time, most of the time, rarely working with non pregnant people, those type of answers. Also, any other careers/info on this would be great!
thanks xxx

 | Hi. I am considering starting an accredited diagnostic medical sonography (RDMS) program in the spring. How much demand is there right now for registered medical sonographers? I live in California, but am open to moving out of state (and probably will eventually). Will I have a lot of trouble finding a job once I graduate? Also, which specialties within sonography are most in demand? I have heard that there is more demand for registered diagnostic cardiac sonographers (RDCS) and registered vascular technologists (RVT) than there is for registered diagnostic medical sonographers. I'd like to hear from anyone in these fields with up to date information about the job prospects within any of those specialties. Thanks!

I want to pursue one of the careers above but i cant decide!

 | You have to take a drug test and I'm already on painkillers for one condition, but I am severely underweight and a doctor said he would give me the necessary stuff for the card but I want to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ultrasound tech). Would it not allow me to get the job? and what about the painkillers? Would they affect the possibility of me getting in as well? Thanks!

 | Ultrasound sonographer, diagnostic medical imaging, ultrasound technician----are they all the same career?
What education is needed for each?
I read ultrasound sonographers need a degree before entering the 21 month program...why? is this true?
