Dietitian Job Questions & Answers

I want to be a registered dietitian but there aren't many job opportunities and it's competitive. As an example, if you look for dietitian jobs on Monster.com, only 100 jobs in the U.S. come up . I could choose to be an Accounting major which is more boring, but there are more job opportunities, such as over 1,000+ accounting related jobs show up on Monster.com Any advice?

Interviewing for a dietitian job. I have a nice black pant suit from Ann Taylor, and want to wear a splash of color (salmon or turquoise) top under the jacket. Is this appropriate, or should I go more conservative? Also, what type of portfolio should I bring with my resume inside?

Nutritionist and Dietitian are often considered interchangeable( but it depends on where you live, right?). I've heard that I will need to learn a lot of math. Please don't be vague. I would like to know what it takes to become a great Nutritionist or Dietitian( is one job better than the other in the US?). What exactly do I need to know?

For religious reasons, I might not be able to be a doctor. My life long dream was to help people in the field of medicine. Are there any other jobs that do not require medical school to help in science? I'm considering psychology or even engineering but are there any jobs in drug development or fields similar to that?

I know that one of the differences is that a Dietitian must be registered and have at least a Bachelors degree in a Food Science/ Nutrition related program as well as have gone through and internship and attained a license ( depending on state) but as in career wise, what is the difference? Are Dietitians found more in hospitals while nutritionists work in private practice or health centers? I am interested in studying in this field , please help :) Thanks :)

For my (highschool) graduation project, I'm giving a presentation about having a career as a dietitian. I've done volunteer work in a hospital, and observed some of what goes on, but I'm going to need more than that for the project. So, how do I find a dietitian willing to let me shadow them? I don't really know any personally, so that's out of the question.
