I've always wanted to be a doctors office nurse or school nurse, but im concerned about going through nursing school. What kind of nursing degree do you need for these jobs? It doesn't make sense to me that you would need the same kind of degree an emergency room nurse, or surgeon nurse would need.

One of the best emergency nurses I ever knew, with over twenty years' experience, was offered a job at $22/hour. She's been assaulted, urinated on (not by accident), spat on, etc. And if the SHTF, you can bet the hospital isn't even thinking they might back her up. And we wonder how to get good people to do a good job!

See my last question for background but to sum up - Im going to try to help my dad become more healthy and lose weight and lower his blood pressure. He works two jobs, Police Officer and Emergency room Nurse, so hes really busy and always too tired to eat right and excercise. If I made a 'plan' with him, how many pounds per week/month is reasonable to help him lose? Hes now about 6 feet tall and Id guess 280 pounds. Hes been down to about 215 before, which should be a good goal weight, as he is a 'large guy' and thats a decent looking weight on him. Real numbers please, not some random answers. I need help to help him?

So I have a couple of questions. The first question that I'm most concerned about is the schooling. Can I go straight to the military after high school into a healthcare career and then have training along the way? And what kind of jobs could I have? I mainly thinking about a nursing job but what other options do I have? And if there is anything else related to the topic that you could tell me it would be greatly appreciated. Would it be possible for me to become a nurse and then go directly to a military healthcare career?

Examples of jobs I am looking to interview is a policeman, teacher, emergency room nurse, counselor, social worker, psychologist, lawyer, security guard, or anyone else that deals with violence in their profession. I have 3 questions that my professor provided me with. I do not need your personal information, just how violence impacts your job. It would be very much appreciated.

I'm in the hospital overnight and just about 20 minutes ago this man on the intercom said we have a number one emergency on floor such and such and room such and such. I can't remember the floor but it wasn't mine. What does that mean? I can't find anything online about it.
