I really would like to be a Licensed Vocational Nurse but I actually need to get a loan on it because financial aid does not cover it. I really would like to continue with it but im looking at a 12 year loan. I live in the Central valley area in California. Around Fresno. Do you think their is jobs for lvns around this area? I really dont want to be in debt if I cant get a job. I know it will be hard finding a job as a new nurse but I know volunteering might help?

I worked at Kaiser and spoke to many different people about their careers but all I got was "LVN's are basically RN's without a few extra papers and less pay". I am going to school to be an LVN starting in August and I want to continue school till I am a RN. But I want to know what is the difference between them as far as tasks go and pay?

I am wondering if anyone can explain some pros and cons to home-care nursing positions? I am considering applying for this type of nursing position, but I don't have any experience with home-care. The pay is great, but sometimes it is not about the money looking at the bigger picture of the career as a whole. Thanks for the feedback!

So I am a little confused on what to study for.. Is a LVN nurse better than RN nurse? What's the difference between them?.. I would like to become one of those nurses that are in Pediatric clinics, and they are the first to see the babies/kids first before the doctor so they can know what's wrong with them, check their weight, height, etc.. Am I going the right way or is that something completely different? NO RUDE COMMENTS, PLEASE!

I a 35 year old guy and considering going to school for nursing. I would like feedback from some in the health care industry. What am I getting into?

I'm not able to decide between the two careers. I know nursing is in demand and more stable but I have a quite an interest in doing hair. I like nursing because of the stability it had to offer and I also find working in health-care quite rewarding. I am also considering going to school for both fields but I so undecided I'm leaning towards the cosmo first and then nursing what do you think would be a better choice? Any nurses or cosmetologist that could give me any advice?
