Obviously most serious research jobs are out without more education, but I'd like more options. Teaching (elementary or high school) is the only one I could think of. Thanks.

For many years now i have been applying at my local libraries and community centers. they always tell me the same thing. that there are not many full time positions, and that they will take my resume and put it on file. i would really love a job at a library or community center. i would even take a job as a janitor or something if it got my foot in the door. is there anything i can do to get in some how? should i take a librarian course in college?

I'm interested in becoming a professor in California or somewhere in the United States (maybe world) that teachers History. I'm told by parents and other people around me that this field will lead to having few job opportunities? Does this hold any truth? Should I just give up on that and find more available and lucrative jobs? Also, what kind of jobs that a person could have with a history major? I'm weighing different options for the future. I'm also interested in medical professions and colleges.

I volunteered/interned at a medical center for 8 years when i turned 18 i was promised a job at the medical facility either doing admitting or something to that affect. When i turned 18 i applied to job openings at the medical facility and hospital to my dismay i was told i did not have the qualifications to be employed there. However, they employed people who were the same age as me and had no experience in the job which I had to teach them what they would be doing in the line of work they had been hired for. When I worked at this medical facility I would clean the emergency examination rooms washing, bleaching, putting new linen on stretchers, cleaning medical equipment, when i turned 18 i would help patients to the bathroom, get the nurse, help them eat or drink, sit and talk to them if they were lonely, hand medical equipment to the doctor, distract young children from the doctor trying to treat them. This is the field i want to go in and i am really p****d off that they didnt look into the fact that i was performing tasks that i should of been paid for? is there some sort of law that i could go after them for this? What should i do?

I'm a senior and I'm graduating on May 2007. I'm still unsure of what I want to do in life. In 7th grade I wanted to become a teacher. I thought that that was my final decision then high school came. I changed my mind from teacher to fashion designer then back to teacher. Then I wanted to become a registered nurse. But I changed my mind to a pharmacist. Now, I am totally confused. I have no idea what I want to do. I'm creative and good at art and I'm also good at giving advice and helping people. I'd like to do something that would allow me to socialize with others. I don't want to do something monotonous or anything that requires chemistry or physics or literature/english. Something that involves history, biology, or pychology and no more than a 4-year degree I'd be interested in. Any suggestions?

I went to college and changed majors 3 times trying to find something I love. And once I finally discovered what I thought I wanted to try doing, I became suspended from the university. So I made the decision to attend a technical school in order to simply train for a job so that at the very least I could live a comfortable life. Here's the problem with everything though. I really suck at school. Please don't give me the "you don't try hard enough" response. I really do try. I can study, do all my homework, take every quiz and every exam, and still manage to either fail, or come out of my class barely passing. Even now at this technical school, I'm failing. I just don't know what to do anymore. I refuse to give in and find some half-@$$ job somewhere in town. I want to make something of myself, but it is really starting to look like I won't be able to. If it helps at all, I'm pretty good at dark room photography and writing.
