Medical Collections Job Questions & Answers

I have ten years banking teller experience. I have an excellent work history. However, due to my husband's nearly year-long unemployment 5 years ago, and the resulting loss of health insurance, I have several medical collections, and 3 other collections on my history. That didn't stop Wachovia from hiring me, but all they did was a criminal background check. Now I need a job, and I'm scared I won't get a banking job now.

I am thinking about placing an application to be a medical biller. I have never done a medical billing before. Would I have to deal with patient in a doctor's office? Do this usually takes place in a doctor's office? Are you in a small little room just doing billing and making phone calls? Thank you for any information or advice.

I'm applying as an ASM at starbucks and they require a credit check with the background check. I recently had a couple of medical bills go into collections due to my husbands loss of a job :( will starbucks still hire me even if my credit score is low? I know they aren't allowed to view just the score. All 3 of my interviews went extremely well and I don't want to lose out on this opportunity.

I have some medical bills in collections right now and I was wondering how long they stay on my credit report after I pay them. I also lost my job and I am behind on my credit card. If I pay it off when I get my taxes done when will that come off. And also will it always say that I was behind?

I just got a letter in the mail from a collections company for a medical bill from an injury I received on the job over 2 years ago. The main issue here is that the restaurant where I was injured is no longer open and one of the owner's is dead. His wife was the other owner, and as of right now I have no idea how to contact her. I got a bill in the mail back then and spent some time on the phone with the hospital's billing department as well as my former boss and the situation ended up with the hospital saying not to worry, that I wouldn't have to pay for it. And then today I get this letter from the collections agency saying I owe $500. Any ideas on what to do?

What Do I do if my local hospital sent the bill to the totally wrong address and put me on collection? I never received the bill being it was sent to wrong address and the hospital admits that but according to them now I should deal with collection agency. Please advise me if there is any law which will protect me because it was a hospital mistake. Also I want to pay this bill if hospital will take it but I don't want to deal with collection agency and don't want to ruin my credit.

Back in 2008 i racked up 50,000$ in medical bills from an illness. I paid what i could but ended up with a judgment against me for 4500$ which i paid. Three of my bills ended up in collections because i simply couldn't afford to make payments to all the seperate bills which are seperate companies. I owe 6000 still. I want to buy a house in the next few years. My credit score is 650 with good payment history. I make 50000$ a year and have had my job for 11 years at same company. Should i try and get a personal loan to get rid of these collections?

I have 3 closed credit card accounts, 1 medical collection and couple miscellaneous collections. Yes, I know. I should have paid my bills, I should have got a 2nd job. I definitely regret this now. I was 19 and had no idea how to manage money. Now I'm 8 years older, a mom and I want to be able to fix my credit. Do I start paying on the old credit card debt or do I let it go? If I start paying on it, will that start my time over again or does it look better that I DID pay off my old debt. Please help...

I don't know how much I owe, but it's several thousand at least. Anyway, will these bills eventually expire on their own? What if I change my number and move and not update my informatoin? Can they do anything about that?

Ok, I am graduating in May '08, as an Anthropolgy major, minor in Religious Studies. I have no idea where to look for a job in my field, I am not planning on going to graduate school right away, I need to start paying my student loans back ASAP! I have asked my professors but no one has given me a solid answer. My main study of interest include, Egypt, and religion practiced all over the world, both ancient and present. So where or how do I start my career? Cleveland State University just has Anthropology as a major, it isn't divided by cultural or phsical.
