If I major in Information Science Technology could I apply for jobs like being an office assistant like a secretary or receptionist. However I was also wondering since this is a broad major, some people tell that I could look into research jobs. That I don't necessarily have to work in a library and that I could even look into medical research jobs if I really want to get more specific. I was also looking into information center jobs, but I heard because of this economy the govt is cutting some of those jobs.

Who pays the scientists to do medical research like sleeping studies ,how stress effects the body ,good food and bad food ,is electromagnetic field good or bad , people who are bald ,gray hair ,understanding the immune system ,understanding viruses and bacteria ,new microscope ,new better MRI ,new better CT scan or x-ray so on so on. Does the government pay or non profit groups? And where does the medical research take place? And does the government feel the need to give money or not or is this low priority for the government ? Is there a lack of money comming in?

I have Bachelor's in Psychology and Business Admin. The jobs I've had so far have been low paying customer service type stuff. Though this could be because I live in Lakeland, FL. I was pre-med at UF and so I've taken classes in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Statistics, Anatomy and Physiology. I decided against med school since I don't like to deal with people and their problems, but I'm interested in medical research. But I want a job that allows me to have a fair amount of physical motion. Being a factory worker in an automobile manufacturing plant sounds good to me. In other words, I don't want to be in a cubicle and tied down to a phone all day. I don't want to work standard business hours due to my insomnia I have a hard time showing up to work at 8 am. The local hospital has different shifts available for medical technologist. I would have to go through a training program and get licensed. Can you tell me whether this is the right profession for me?

I am from China and I have done medical research more than ten years in oncology and immunology. I also have PhD. Right now I am thinking working in the hospital, however it needs license. So where can I get information where to take exam. Do I have to take course here if I have already studied the same courses in China. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I realize that most people don't work factory floor jobs where all the time spent on the line, is spent actively doing something. I would put my estimates for my position, medical research, at about 60 or 70 percent. How much time do you spend actively engaged in work related activities at work?

So I absolutely love biology, and I was wondering what kind of jobs I could get with a biology major. I used to want to be a nurse, but then I realized that that is more taking care of people, and not really looking at the science part of it. I kinda want to do something with medical research, and I'm really good with genetics particularly. Im just kinda worried about the job outlook aspect of it, like how hard it will be to find a job and that kind of stuff.

I'm looking for something for which there is enough demand (at any level) that involves some medical research. Is the only way of getting into research to become a lecturer?

Ok the title does not say it all AT ALL. So I am in collage right now and I am in what they call Social Science, it's general really, things like Sociology, History,Intro to psychology... Now I know it's important to do a job that you love and blah blah blah there's really only one thing I love and its Money and material goods. It may sound shallow and what not but it's true and the only reason I made it out of high school and stayed in school was because I want and NEED a good paying job. The only way I can stay motivated is by thinking of the money. Right now I am not doing good in math at all I failed my remedial high math course and i'm not the best at math. Then again when I have a good teacher like I did for summer school I do really well so the teacher does play a small part in this but my true passion is Science like I enjoy reading up on anything medical related and if I could do any job in the world I want to do medical research I actually have an interest in it. Now what it stopping me are my grades I will try very hard and I will be going to school year round in order to attempt at going into this Field but who knows? once again I would love working in the field if science and the two most interesting jobs to me are medical research and Orthopedic surgeon and I know for sure I can pull though the math but if I need to use it in my every day life as an accountant would, then I don't think I would be able to do this job, does it require me do use an Eminence amount of mathematics? Now all my life I lived a good and comfortable life, my mother is a project manager for a tobacco company and my father is a system architect for the government of QC. Both studied in programming. Now I always had expensive tastes and stuff and had a some what luxurious life and I don't think I could handle living any other way. My only goal in life is to have a lavish and comfortable life and money has always been the greatest motivator. I would rather be doing something I hate to death and be rich then do something I love and be poor cos at the end of the day I will hate life lol... I have more then enough money to study anything I want so that is no issue I am very opened to things and I want to make AT LEAST 60K a year my goal is 80K-100K though. I have plenty of time to study and as long as I bring in the grades my parents will take care of rent food and other expenses. I am willing to work as hard as I need to in order to reach this goal. I also have a great interest in management I love managing a team, I used to run servers in a game called Team fortress 2 they were very popular the only reason they went down was because I was really bad at programming (never took any courses only self thought online) and could not set up the donation system correctly there for no funds from non local players could come to me and I had to close down. My mother is a manager and though it probably does not say much, when she is having problems at work she often tells me about it and I sometimes suggest what I would do and she often needs motivation of some sort when there is someone to fire my mother finds it hard to do as for me I am ruthless in these situation and have no problem getting nasty most of my admins can testify on this. there is only one sector I believe I would not be able to work in its education I would go nuts being around kids all day...But teaching in University would actually not be that bad for what it's worth I was also often told I had good charisma I have ease interacting with people I am not shy I find interest in many different things just nothing ever beat my life long passion for money ahaha I love reading but not story books I only read text books, I find that I am wasting my time if there is no knowledge to be drawn when reading or even watching something. I am sorry if I contradict myself in this text, I was trying to go in depth but at the same time make it short not to waist the readers time. Thank you for your patience.

I'm researching the different jobs in the medical field. I'm not interested in becoming a nurse or PT or any type of assistant. I'm looking for a job that is not too time consuming so that after med school and when I have an established family, I can actually spend time with them... something like an optometrist. I don't mind spending time in school, and I do well enough in school, so i don't mind hard work in school. How is is x-ray or anesthesiology?... Any suggestions would be great!

I'm doing a portfolio for a class and it requires applying for places/researching jobs. We're not really applying by the way. I'm just unsure of what to research because I don't know what you could possibly do with JUST a medical terminology certificate. I ask because I don't want something completely random like retail or something too advanced like a nurse, so on and so forth.
