 | How does a person get a medical transcriptionist as a job? Where should I apply if I decide to be one? Are there a lot of jobs available out there? Can I do the job at home? Is the course available in community colleges? Are there any schools online that offer the course at a reasonable fee?

 | I am a recent Penn Foster Graduate and I got a Diploma for a Medical Transcriptionist. I have a 2 year old that only has me to care for him and I have heard some pretty bad things about all local day cares. When I previously tried to work everybody I knew that could babysit always gave up on me within a months time. I need to find a job working from home. Any advice or help would be very helpful. | I don't really see any transcriptionist jobs being advertised. Do I just walk in ask and drop my resume?? How do you talk them into letting you work at home or do you have to set up your own business first? I would of course rather work at home than in house. Someone please help!

 | I have completed a 6 month course in medical transcription from a good institute in Bangalore. Initially they promised to help us (those who were interested) get a part time job option in Bangalore. But after completion of the course they are giving several unvalid reasons and not helping us at all. Can someone tell me names of companies who give part time jobs as a medical transcriptionist in Bangalore.

 | I'm looking into an online course that can help me become a medical transcriptionist in about 6 months. My husband and I wanted to know before we invest the time and money if it is even worth it! We have a little boy getting ready to start school and would like to have a job where I can make my own hours...work at home...pick him up...drop him off...actually talk to the teachers and be somewhat involved...we also hope to expand our family soon and thought this might be the way to go to keep our new baby from having to go to daycare. How much do these types of jobs usually make?...And how can I tell if the online course I choose is legit?

 | I am looking to make a decent salary working from home, and no, I'm not looking for a get-rich quick scheme, or something like it. What kind of training goes into being a medical transcriptionist and how can a person find a job doing it? If any anybody knows, I would appreciate hearing from you!
Hi, I am looking for an answer from someone who preferably has this job or knows how to get one. NOT people just trying to sell me their website.

 | Like the question says, I was wondering what is required to become a medical transcriptionist - what courses I need to take, how much time I have to invest, how much it's going to cost me, how I go about getting a job as a medical transcriptionist once the courses are finished. Will I get a degree, or certification, or something else? Any additional information you can give me would be a great help, too. Thanks :-)

 | As in no fees to start, no investments, and an actual pay check. Can be a specified skill or not. I'd just like to see if they actually exist. The only one I know of is a medical transcriptionist, but that job is on the way out because of software.
