 | We are all familiar with the typical emergency medical transport type paramedic job. I am interested in what other types of Paramedic jobs there are out there. Does anyone reading this work as a paramedic in a different setting?
Thanks!

 | There is a course at my community college for a paramedic certification, and i was wondering if i took it and got certified would i be certified in all states or would i have to becoming certified again if i move to a different state, ive been reading online and looking for paramedic jobs and some say things like "must have Georgia paramedic certification" which leads me to believe it varies.

 | I lost my powerseller status a couple of weeks ago because I had a lag in activity for about a month. I was completing a training academy for my paramedic job. I know you have to be invited to be a powerseller, but is there any way for me to expedite this process. Thanks

 | I'm a firefighter, and in the interview they asked me how I would feel if they asked me to be on the ambulance. I said I wouldn't like it, but guess I would have to do it. I do have a Paramedic license. Now, they are orienting me to be a paramedic, a job I hate and have no interest in. I am in the union. What should I do? I don't want to do it. Also, being a paramedic on an ambulance is a higher level of responsibility.

 | I am currently a paramedic in central Mississippi and I am looking to relocate my family in about a year. I want to find a city with mountain views, snow in the winter, hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing nearby. It must also have good schools, a cost of living not extravagantly higher than Mississippi, less crime than Jackson (shouldn't be to hard), available paramedic jobs, and be In a state that scores less than 12 on the Brady Campaign website. Does it exist?

 | Right now I am attending school to get my EMT cert and after that on to paramedic. What jobs can I get at a hospital right now while I am going to school? Is there something I can do that doesn't require school and just some on the job training? Where would I go to find out? Just to my local hospital or do I need to contact someone specific?

 | I'm looking for an Industrial EMS job in Manitoba and i'm having a heck of a time locating any information on whats out there. I realize that there are a ton of EMS jobs in BC and Alberta, but my Saskatchewan license doesn't transfer to those provinces. I have 9 years of experience ( full time ), solely on Ambulance, but want to move in to something a little different and higher paying.
Any ideas, contacts, Manitoba companies worth checking out etc?

 | I'm not looking for what st. has the best amusement park or sports. My family will be in a position in the next two years to choose to plant long term roots or relocate. One of us will be a cert. elem. school teacher, the other a nationally registered paramedic / firefighter. We have two young children.
Currently, we live in N.Ga. The positive aspects of staying are:
low cost of housing,
free college tuition, freedom to own firearms and a
teacher and paramedic shortage - job security.
The negative aspects of living in Ga.:
high rate of urban sprawl and the traffic that goes with it,
reverse discrimination and racial tension,
high immigrant population, schools ranked low nationally and it's generally flat, boring and disinteresting (no mountains, 4 hours to an ocean, can't see the stars .... suburban hell).
We've considered the Pacific Northwest and Utah. What places can you recommend for reasonable housing, gov't job opportunities and quality of living? East or West .. where and why?
