Prosthodontist Job Questions & Answers

Sort by:
I'm planning to attend a college that offers Air Force ROTC and graduate as a second lieutenant. However, I'd like to know what kind of jobs would be available to me once I do graduate. Could I be a doctor? If so, would I have to go to med school at some point? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that Prosthodontist is a dentist that has gone on to complete post graduate specialty training and that a Prosthetist is a technician with further qualifications to treat patients directly. But from what I can tell, prosthetist can do a lot of what dentists do in terms of prosthodontics (dentures and other appliances). This question is purely out of curiosity, sorry if the answer is blaringly obvious.

I am 17 years old and was wondering what jobs pay really well. I wanted to take nursing or something in the health care field but am not sure. Nurses make about $40 hr can. from what I heard so its a pretty well paid job. What are some other jobs? They don't have to be in the health care field. If you could list the schooling process and the wages of that particular job that would be awesome. Thanks!

I have a bachelor's degree in biology but can't find a job. I'm thinking of entering the healthcare field, because of supposed job availability. I'm finding a lot of jobs that require a two year associates degree, which would make my bachelor's degree totally useless, and jobs that require doctorates, which would take too long. Are there healthcare jobs that require a masters degree? Something like physical therapy? What else?

I have 3 impacted teeth that will need to be surgically removed (I had one removed years ago). This leaves me with 4 baby teeth that aren't going to last forever. Is it possible to get invisalign after getting dental implants or are those implants secure forever? I want Invisalign, but I don't want to have any missing teeth.

I just had a root canal done on tooth #14 (upper molar) last week. The endodontist put in a temporary filling and asked me to visit a specialist to get the crown done. I have maxed out my dental insurance for this year. My question would be... is there a concept of a "temporary crown" and how long does it last/ how long can I wait until I get the tooth permanently restored with a permanent crown?
7 answers - Asked By: SamRam - 7/18/2007
I had done a root canal at front tooth (#8). It still hurt sometimes and now after I placed a crown on it it still does hurt every once in a while. I went to 3 different dentists and all said that the root canal was done greatly. One told me that pain at a root canal tooth always means that the job was done right. That I should always expect some pain at the tooth with root canal done.
