If I attend my local Community College in KY, will it effect my chances of being hired as an RN? What I mean is do hospitals and such consider a community college a credible degree or will I have trouble finding a job? I would also like to know is RN jobs are still in demand and what the KY hourly pay is.

I am planning on moving within the next 6 months to Portland. I am a fairly new nurse working for a couple of years, but have some good certifications under my belt for the field I want to work in, trauma. I am just wondering if anyone is aware of the RN job market in Portland and if the high unemployment rate includes healthcare as well. Any information would be great.

I am about to apply to nursing school, I am switching majors from pre med. I was arrested, not convicted 8 mo ago. I tried to get a CNA job and was denied bc this was on my record. Will this hinder my chances of getting accepted to an RN program, and will this stop me from having future RN jobs? I'm nervous if this major switch will end up being useless.

I am a licensed RN in the US coz i have already taken the NCLEX exam in Tokyo, Japan. I will be leaving for the US soon and I am just wondering if I can get RN jobs as soon as i arrive in the US or do I need to wait for the work permit from the USCIS? What other jobs can I do for the meantime? Answers will be greatly appreciated.

I am considering applying for some RN jobs there and am new to Philadelphia and have heard not so great things about Temple University. I really do not want to be freaked out every time I have to travel to work if I get a job there, but there are so many job openings! Thanks!

As an RN my job affords me the opportunity to administer assistance and aid to all peoples I come in contact with on a daily basis. My job is physically and emotionally draining but every smile, every hug, every kind word or gesture reminds me what a privilege it is to get to touch peoples lives in a positive way. What is your job and how can you use it to be a positive influence on those you come in contact with?

What I mean is that I want to work somewhere that will pay for me to get my RN while working...Like cna work or something that will help me gain experience...I don't WANT to do the cna thing but it seems a lot of cna jobs offer tuition help, would be good experience and hopefully look good on my resume when I start school and start applying for rn jobs...Any other job options that would be as good? What is my best bet?

I was wanting to return back to college to get a degree in nursing since I'm currently a Laser Tech/Esthetician. I've tried to search the differences between an ADN and a BSN. BSN's usually go on to their masters and specialize in something, correct? Or are they the baseline just to land a RN job nowadays? I would just want to be a baseline RN, just to be able to safely administer injectables in the state of Texas (even though they still require a sign off). I would also use this to be a more well rounded skin specialist and laser tech. The thing is if I wanted to work as a RN, would it be harder for me to land a job simply because of only going for ADN? Or is the difference negligible. Obviously I would think a BSN would be chosen over an ADN, but what if there weren't enough applicants? Wanted to know the opinions of those already in the nursing field. Thank you in advance!

Rather than getting my BSN and then getting a RN job? I have heard that hospitals will pay for my BSN or offer a program to get my BSN. Is this correct?

I've been hearing that new graduates from nursing school are having a very difficult time finding a nursing job. The main reason is because all of the jobs require experience. Have you heard anything about this? Is this true? Thanks.

I would like to know if hospitals would employ someone who just completed an RN program, or if additional certification is needed (CPR, ACLS)? When I was looking at RN job listings, most hospitals and other companies want someone with at least 1-2 years of experience. Where would recently-graduated RNs find employment? I am starting my RN program in the fall, so I would like to know. Thank you!!
