 | I am struggling with the decision to get my Registered Nursing License. I know of a lot of nurses who simply hate their jobs. I know how the health industry works because i am a Certified Nursing Assistant working in a hospital. I am almost done with my prerequisites for Nursing and I don't want to hate my job like a lot of nurses. If your an RN and hate your job what is your Dream job and why do you hate being a RN? Thank you for any feedback it is GREATLY appreciated.

 | There are about 4 staff workers in each unit - an RN and several aides. The Nursing Home sent a note saying that cash gifts aren't permitted, but cookies or fruit are ok. The aides rolled their eyes at that. I got the impression that gift cards might be ok, but don't know how much to purchase. One aide in particular has spent a lot of time with our family member and with us.
Family member was recently admitted to a unit with 16 patients.

 | I'm trying to find out the best route, and the quickest yet best quality, to become a nurse practitioner. I'm an RN with an Associate Degree, and have been in the medical field for 29 yrs, since high school.
I'm interested in learning something new, and would like to stay in the medical field despite a partial disability I have. This makes it impossible to continue with physical, or even sedentary nursing, so more autonomy would be great.
If there are any legitimate at home job for an RN, that would be very helpful in the meantime. Any ideas?
I've been Charge nurse in a high acuity med-surg unit in a teaching hospital, and presently Charge in a Surgery/Oncology unit. I also work ENT/Ortho/GI/GU/Oral/Plastics/Derm clinics, and Minor surgery.
I was a certified scrub tech prior. I worked in the OR for 10 yrs. I trained at the best, 'Big Charity' in New Orleans.
Motto: 'See one, do one, teach one' I specialized in Ortho and Neuro, training new staff.
Thanks for input!

 | I'm thinking about enrolling for the RN program. There is a 2 year waiting list and it takes 2 years to complete for a degree to become a RN. I've heard it is extremely difficult. I want to know from Registered Nurses. How hard is the program? I have a family and I want to know if I'll have time for them. How is the pay?
