	How do u become a surgical nurse if your a surgical technologist ? 	What chance do i have at starting life over at 27? I have lived in New Jersey all of my life. due to the economy, I lost my career as a surgical technologist, and was homeless for awhile after leaving a highly dysfunctional relationship. 	I'm really streesed out at my job and I want to know if I should stay or go. The people I work with are rude. I am a surgical technologist on a labor and delivery unit. I work along side nurses and doctors. The nurses however treat me as if I am beneath them. They use me to clean their patients after deliveries and say things that are demeaning. 	Surgical Technologist on externship in labor and delivery? I am almost done with school , I have a 4.0 in classwork and a nice grade in operating room skills. I don't understand how I am the only person who has to go to labor and delivery. If I go to labor and delivery as a surgical technologist will I lose my skills in th operating room? My sister said that I will lose my skills in the operating room, I won't get paid much( the job is in upper chesapeake maryland), I will be doing a lot of stocking instead of l&d. My sister has always been a very negative person and I just don't know what to do or how I should address this problem. I have worked to hard to be sent into labor and delivery, don't get me wrong I love working around babies but this is not what I had in mind.
