 | I just finish a short course as a Health Unit Coordinator. I have applied for over 50+ jobs. The jobs are requesting at least1 yr experience. What should I do and where can I apply? The school stated that they would be of support. But as usual the school lied and since we were the 1st pilot class we are actually their trophies. I have apllied at several hospitals. I also took a class in EKG. Please any suggestions.

| I want to get a Health Unit Coordinator certificate, I've taken most of the classes required at my college- medical terminology, legal aspects, computer applications, keyboarding, and English, Speech, Psychology, and Business Math which are required. I only need to do an Internship.
I've read job descriptions requiring knowledge of ICD9 coding and transcription. Are these important? What classes or skills would you recommend for this position?

| An older friend of mine who recently injured her neck wants me to be her home health aide. It is a job that is through the county. I was wondering if there are certain stipulations for qualifying for the position like taking certain classes. I finished taking classes for a health unit coordinator program and got my degree. I also know that they require a background check and drug testing. My record is clean so the background check does not concern me. I am very close to this person because she was there for me when my family wasn't. The main reason why I want the job is to spend more time with her bacause this person means the world to me. Do you think I'll be able to get this job?

| I have graduated from college one year ago as a Health Unit Coordinator. I have been looking for a job ever since. I recently decided to volunteer at my local hospital to get my foot in the door. The hospital has emailed me to answer the following question "What type of experience do you hope to have volunteering at this hospital?" The only thing I am able to come up with is "I hope to gain more experience in a hospital setting and expand my personal and Professional networks." Do you think that is good? Is there some other ideas that I can tell them?

| Hey! There is an academy of medicine in my school and the two year course for health unit coordinator ends with a final exam for the certificate but of a friend of mine told me I can't take the exam because in 2 years when I finish the course I am only gonna be 16. I already requested the course in student selection form but I am really worried about not getting the certificate because really what's the point if taking the class and putting effort and dedication in it, if I am not gonna get anything! I want to know If I could take the test for the certificate under 16 or take the course and when I turn 18 pay it and take the exam? help?

 | I have an interview for a Health Unit Coordinator (non-certified) position in the ER next week. The application said that specifics will be explained at the interview. However, I was trying to get some informaiton prior to the interview. My mom is and RN but not really sure what this position intels. Any info or advice will be helpful.  | I have receptionist/administrative assistant experience but I am having a hard time finding a job. I want to work at a hospital because I'd love to work from 7 pm to 7 am. This would allow me to go back to school during the days and finish up my degree. | Hey I am thinking of temporarily moving up to the interior from the vancouver area (south surrey actually) to work as a Unit Coordinator. I want to get a few months of experience and they seem to have a lot of need up there. I would be taking a leave from my other job. | I am looking to get into psychology but I don't want to go to graduate school. People have scared me away and said the competition for clinical psychologists is fierce in the US. I'd like to put in 4 years or so. I'd be happy with being a mental health aid. What kind of jobs can you get with a bachelors?
