Veterinarian Job Questions & Answers

I dont mean a veterinarian job or anything like that... More like something that involves being out in any type wilderness for months at a time observing and researching all types of wildlife... Something like the people on "Planet Earth" did only researching things instead of just filming them.

I'm only 13,don't judge but its my dream to be one! I have 2 dogs, both love me more than anybody else. One even plays tag with me and sleeps on my feet each night. I'm an honor roll student All a's and one b in math. I'm super good in science and writing. What subjects should I become better on if I want to grow up and be a Veterinarian? In all I do becoming a Veterinarian always motivates me to be my best in everything. Also,is there a 24 hour ( I know there is shifts) Veterinarian job because I don't want to be one that just does check ups.

When I'm older, I want to be a Veterinarian. I'm currently in 9th grade going to 10th grade in August. I don't know anything on how to become one or where I can go to become one. If there are any Vets on here that can help me out on what you did and where you went to study at. I don't really want to go to school out of Texas, but I do want to go somewhere that is really good. My parents hardly make any money and I'm pretty sure we won't have enough then either. So, I'm going to have to depend on some kind of way to get money to take me through the univeristy or college. But anyways, just, if any one can tell me, how and what I can do to be a Veterinarian. I also want to know if there are different kinds of Veterinarians and the jobs that they do. Thanks in advance.

What are some jobs that work with domestic animals like dogs, cats, etc., but exclude being a veterinarian? What about some jobs with exotic animals?

I'm currently a dental assistant but I'm not really happy. I'm very interested in working with animals. But, what is the chain of jobs found in a Vet's office? For example, at the dental office, we have: Front Desk Dental Assistant EFDA Radiologist Hygienist Office Manager Doctor So, what's the chain for Veterinarian offices? I know there's the Vet assistant and then the Doctor. Thanks guys! -Rachel

When I say "mildly", I mean mildly. It's not something that could interfere in any way with work. I would just like to know what someone with that psychological profile would be happier doing. Would veterinarian be an appropriate job? How about teaching? Those are my choice and backup choice to study for. I would appreciate any suggestions though.

I know veterinarian and vet techs, but what other options are out there? My girlfriend loves animals but doesn't want to go through 8+ years of school to be a vet and vet tech isn't really her style. Just wondering what are some other possibilities?

I'm tired of having a job where I sit on my butt all day. I'm curious what jobs will get me moving around a bit more. Besides being a fitness trainer, which I don't see myself doing. Please include careers that require specific educational tracks, as well as general answers. I am hoping to go back to school soon.

I want to be a vet so I can help innocent animals. So it would help also to know: the best vet colleges, recommended preferences, any additional jobs needed to get a better look at what a vet does, and anything else that could help my veterinarin career. Thank you for looking at my question and or answering my question.

Does your veterinarian do something special to make you and your pets feel welcome? What's the best experience you've ever had at a veterinary clinic? What do you look for in a good veterinarian? Would love to hear your comments!

Don't say veterinarian, but something that would require a 2 year degree would be good. I figured I would have a better show in the Pets category than Career.

I'm 15, and I'm going to start applying for jobs. However, if it is possible I'd like to get something involving animals. Generally speaking, would vets, kennels, pet stores, or groomers consider hiring a teen? Thanks!
