There is an ad in the paper for veterinary receptionist and the job is located only 5 minutes from my home. Which is great because I don't want to be too far away from my baby. (yep i'm a first time mom) I am currently a stay at home mom and would like to get back into the work force. The ad doesn't have specific requirements for the job so I was wondering what does the receptionist do. I have heard some say that you also have to help clean cages, etc. Please help. I am thinking about applying Monday mornng. Thanks in advance! i would also like to know how much they make? city: fayetteville,nc i only asked because a family member was telling me something different. thank you very much :(

The job I have a working interview for does not call it a veterinary assistant position. They call it veterinary technican assistant, where one would be assisting the technician with fecals, blood work, monitoring anesthesia, UA's, filling prescriptions, etc. Perhaps this IS the role of a veterinary assistant and this vet is just using a different type name for it. Anyway, any tips for working this type of position? I have been a veterinary receptionist, but have never helped out in the back. I would really like this job, so any tips, or advice would be great!! Thanks.

The job entails wearing scrubs on a daily basis, so obviously I won't wear scrubs to an interview, but what should I wear? I have been told that a black blazer and black pants with a collared shirt would fit any job interview but I sort of think that its too corporate for this type of job position, am I wrong? Should I go with the Black/White/Black look? What should I wear? Are wearing colors bad? Do I have to wear the blazer jacket?

I applied for an enrty level job at a vet clinic as a receptionist. how much do they usually make per hour?

I make $10.00/ hour (just started in this clinic 3 months ago). It is hard to pay the bills! I like the job but am discouraged because of pay and it seems that there is little room for growth within the company. I'm curious what others' experience has been.

I ultimately want to receive my degree for Veterinary Medicine, but I'm wondering if my Veterinary Technician degree (two years) can transfer towards the Vet medicine degree (like the first four years). Would it be a complete waste of time if I receive the vet tech first ?

If i complete a veterinary technician assistant certificate, would i be able to get a job at a vet as a vet assistant or even as a receptionist? or is it wasting money and not worth it to help me get my foot in the door?

I'm interested in attending veterinary school, and I know that you need to have experience in working in a veterinary office in order to qualify for graduate school. I'm just not sure what job I can take at a veterinary office, because, of course, I don't have any sort of medical degree. However, I have had a number of pets over the years varying from hamsters, to dogs, to birds, and to lizards and other reptiles.

I've been looking for a job in a animal hospital or in a similar setting for a while. I have no prior experience but it's something I am interested in. All of the Vet Tech positions that I've come across ask for prior experience. Is there any companies that hire and will train or is there other positions that normally do not ask for experience. If you have any advice please let me know. THANKS!

Hi, I'd love to work with animal. I was thinking of an animal lawyer, a vet or an animal psychologist/behaviourist. Would you be able to tell me about jobs where i could work animals such as dogs, cats, horses. Could you try and tell me what each thing is (e.g. a vet - this is when you help and operate on sick animals) Could you also try tell me what grades you need and what subjects? (i live in the uk) Thankyou so much!

I'm looking for a fall back career(I want to be a writer) and I've always loved helping animals so I've figured vet is a good place to start. I love working with animals and even though I'm not at the college age yet, I would like to know where I'm heading, what colleges to apply for when I'm at that age. I want to know what to major in and want to study, also, will becoming a medical assistant get me a job in being Vet Tech? What jobs will, and what courses should I take to reach my secondary goal? I already have my first goal planned out by the way, no needed input for that but any is appreciated.

Does your veterinarian do something special to make you and your pets feel welcome? What's the best experience you've ever had at a veterinary clinic? What do you look for in a good veterinarian? Would love to hear your comments!
