I used to be a computer programmer who got laid off several years ago and have been unable to get back in the industry. In the meantime I have found the love of my life -- cooking! Now I want to try to getting cooking jobs . . . nothing to fancy, just a normal cook job. Unfortunately going to school to get a certificate isn't an option and all my experience cooking is for my family, who love it btw, but I have no real professional experience. Any ideas??

I work in a high school life skills classroom. The kids learn real life skills such as cooking, job preparation, community skills, and communication. The school has never had a whole lot of money in the budget for the things we need such as money for us to go out into the community, ride public transporation, grocery shopping, etc. With recent budget cuts we now have to rely on parent donations which can be difficult for many of out students parents. What organizations can I write to or contact in an effort to get some kind of donation for our class?

I work for the Army as a civilian and make great money. However, I hate my job as an electronics technician. Im 35 and dont wanna go back to school, besides i still have loans out. Its considered the best job in my area for my field. But the long hours at my work bench thinking i could be doing something better get to me. I went from $20K a year to $65K a year. Do i just grin and bear it, or do something i love and have nothing to show for? For instance i wanna be a studio drummer, but ill be poor until i make connections, and even then its a gamble. I also love to cook but every cooking job i had pays $9 an hour if im lucky. The point is i dont wanna waste my talents for the almighty dollar but it seems to be goin that way for me.. What to do!!!!

When 9/11 happened, lots of libs and Democrats said 9/11 was an inside job when it was s a known fact that it was a terrroist attack. These guys became the new Democratic party which Obama is in charge of. Also all of the men in the Democratic party are child molesters. However, when Republicans question blatantly cooked jobs reports, then libs attack us for being "truthers" or whatever.

We're pretty young, but we have lived in ME for our entire lives. I'm looking to attend college for Biology. My fiance is currently working as a cook, and is looking to eventually go to school for that. Until then, he would like to have a cooking job, but nothing huge. We're small town kids, we're not looking for the country or the city, somewhere in the middle would be nice. Near the ocean, on either coast. Factors to consider, safety in the community, rent prices, available employment Thanks!

Hi. I have a friend from high school who, for some reason, decided to join the Navy. At first I was really concerned about what kind of job she'll get because I'm worried she might get hurt somewhere down the road. However, before she enlisted, she took some culinary classes at a college. So with that, I'm wondering if there's anyone out there in the Navy who knows how jobs go, and if my friend will be getting a cooking job or something. The military wouldn't assign someone a random that doesn't meet their skills, would they?
