He is 28 and a veteran. He was staying in motels when he got out of the army but he is now out of money. He has been looking for a job but nobody seems to be hiring. I want to help him but money-wise I am unable. We are states apart, so the best I can do is look up information for him. If you know any helpful phone numbers, homeless shelter information, places he can get food, job help. If you live in the area and know anything that could help, I would appreciate it greatly.

We live across the other side of Australia to our family and some of our friends. We have had three instances now, where people have either showed up unannounced (this was a relative that we had not seen or spoken to in 5 years!) the other two times were people who called less than 12 hours beforehand and said 'I'll be there tomorrow!' This is really starting to p*** me off. My husband works in a mine on a roster, and must give minimum 2 weeks notice for any leave. I run a busy pet sitting business and I would need at least a month's notice before I can organise to do anything! Apart from this, I do not have time to clean the house within 12 hours notice, nor can I afford to get someone to do it. We had a relative call last night and say she will be here in 3 weeks - that's good to have notice, but we have planned a weekend away for that date!!! Because of our jobs we have to plan things well in advance, and I would assume that our relatives, of all people, should know this!!! What do we do??? Am I right to feel annoyed by this? I would never just 'drop in' on someone on the other side of the country without giving notice first!!! Our 'weekend away' is actually 4 days at a beachside camping place 4 hours away. My hubby and I have not had a trip away for months, and I have worked each and every day for 3 months now. VERY much looking forward to it, I really don't want to have to cancel :-( Imagine your most annoying relative. Now imagine bringing them along to a romantic campsite for 4 days with you. We want to avoid bringing her with us at all costs :-(
