 | So I am about to graduate high school and I want to go to college for a degree in human services, which I feel would give me a pretty broad range of career options since I'm not 100?ositive yet. But my top choices I have been considering are childcare worker, substance abuse/addiction counselor, or a personal care aide. I am pretty positive all of these career choices could fall under the human services category, but I'm not sure? Could anyone tell me for sure? Thanks :)

 | It is way too early for me to be thinking about jobs, but I am really interested in the brain and helping people with disorders, I just find it fascinating and research different psychological disorders. I know they are sensitive things to talk about, but I am so curious about them... I'm not perfect myself so you know... Just wondering what jobs one could have in that area of research.

 | I know there are lots of jobs to be had in the IT industry, but one of the most common descriptions of IT I've heard of is that it is geared more towards "working with people" than Computer Science is.
I'm just wondering to what extent this description should apply to it.. are Info Tech jobs heavy on customer service and the such?

 | I am wondering if anyone can explain some pros and cons to home-care nursing positions? I am considering applying for this type of nursing position, but I don't have any experience with home-care. The pay is great, but sometimes it is not about the money looking at the bigger picture of the career as a whole. Thanks for the feedback!

 | Personal note: I'm self-employed, and I have a pre-existing condition that required expensive attention...I found a job with excellent benefits with very little effort and I'm insured now. I work for myself and for an employer.
Jose, my employer is a hospital..if it goes belly up, I'll work for a different hospital.
Vaughn, nice answer/explanation. I have a Master's degree, to answer your question..and demand is high for my work.

mm, people who are disabled not only have their healthcare paid for by the government, but also are eligible for social security payments, regardless of what they've paid in. One example, children's family's receive payments for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

 | Ok more people are gonna have insurance now. But look at how many jobs are gonna be lost. Businesses are gonna cut their employees down to under 50 so they don't have to provide insurance. Even where I work they actually said they're gonna do it if Obamacare goes through. And they're actually gonna remove a department in their business to do this, showing that this will hurt small businesses too. I never really heard anyone point this out, how jobs are going to be lost because of this.

 | I truly love being around elderly people and would love to make a career of it, but I am wondering what positions would make a good amount of money. I have four children, and want to know I can care for them if something ever happened to my husband. I do have school as an option first, but wouldn't know what classes to take. Please list some titles, along with responsibilities and requirements, and maybe potential salary? I believe I am meant to care for people, so my heart would be in it as well. Thanks.
