HR Business Partner Job Questions & Answers

I'm relocating to DC and I've been offered a job. The employer offer salaries as "net of income". I'm not too familiar on how to calculate the gross. I need to calculate and perhaps negotiate my salary. The HR Business Partner said it would be 58,000 net or 60,000 depending on my situation. Tax info :Married/claiming 2. I've used a net to gross calculator and it gave me 7ok or 75k. I don't know if that is accurate.

Hi friends, Me & my partner just started an Employment Agency here in Brooklyn, NY and we want to find a smart(not very expensive) way to promote ourself. How do we tell the Employers in our area and let's say NY of our existence and attract them to advertise, contact and call us? We know that the official way is media. We believe it won't hurt anybody if share his/her experience the time when started. How & where? We will appreciate all detailed information. Thank you for your time.

Im finishing an internship in Human Resources. Im graduating in 3 months, and will most likely volounteer myself as the new manager or junior manager of the human resources department. Im just doing research to see what a reasonable starting salary is, generally speaking, in canada for this positon. My stage pays 16/hr at the moment. Any advice or information about the field's starting wages and conditions are appreciated. Thank you.

(UK people answer please) I had my heart set on a sociology degree, but it is a very underestimated degree so is it better I go for business studies? Everyone is doing business studies, hardly anyone picks sociology. Is it that bad that I'd end up in no job at the end of it? I plan on working in HR , in any government department like DWP, NHS, MOD, MI5, etc. Please help.

I'm graduating with two bachelors- one in communication and one in sociology. I also have a minor in psychology. My GPA is a 3.5 and I went to a California State University. Will I really have a hard time getting a job? I have experience in accounting/office administration. I want to get into HR or something similar. I know I didn't get "well respected" degrees, but would the business world really benefit if were were all business majors? I think not! What's your opinion?

Hi. Could anyone please help me find an article that discusses HR's role in the world of business? I have to do a one-page summary and one-page analysis of it. That being said, I'd appreciate if the article's short because I am only required to do essentially, two pages. It also must be published within the last year. Thanks.

I will be taking the patent bar in May (and hopefully passing it) and I would like to get an early start on my job search. I currently handle litigation work for a boutique maritime firm in lower Manhattan. I have a degree in microbiology and worked for Merck for two years after I graduated from undergrad. I'm looking in the New York area (NYC or Long Island). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
