I have an HR bachelor's degree and will start my new job very soon. I am hoping to advance within the company, but if that's not possible I would obviously need to look outside the company for opportunities. Most higher level HR jobs require HR experience. How many years in this position do you think would be adequate to advance to a higher level position such as assistant director or maybe director of one HR department (benefits, training, etc.)?

I just graduated in May and I have a great full-time job at a dental insurance company right now, but I got my degree in Human Resources and hope to make use of that because the field really interests me. When I search for HR jobs, what are some of the titles that would be considered "entry-level" jobs?

I am a college grad who has been gainfully underemployed last few years, bachelors & masters degrees. I am sick of trying to find something in my field or pursuing my passion all I want is a decent paying job, a house, a wife, a car, benefits, and some job security. I could care less what it is. As long as I can pay the bills and fit in the middle class bracket I am happy. Maybe I could get one of those 'dirty jobs' from the famous TV series. Any advice how to get a dirty job that pays decent with benefits? Where to look and how to get it? I don't care if I have to work in a sewer all day, or wear a hazmat suit, I don't care if I am crawling in mud, I even don't care if the job entails cleaning out latrines all day or being covered in horse manure. As long as it pays 30k+ a year with full health benefits and is a long-term job with great job security I am happy. I am tired of settling for the $9/hr jobs with no health benefits, like the job I currently am in. Right now in my life I just care about the salary the job pays and indepenence. For the past 5 years after college I have settled for $9/hr jobs with no health insurance, I can't do that anymore. I want my independence, I want insurance, I want my own house. i don't care how dangerous or how dirty the job is. I am so desperate to live the middle class lifestyle I will do just about anything to get it even if it means working a very dangerous job. I would rather risk being killed everyday on the job and live the middle class life, then to continue the $9/hr job living with friends, family, or a roommate. Any advice?

Im comtemplating going to do an interview with this company and they said its training to eventually recruit employees to full time jobs. Any thoughts or suggestions ab out this being related to HR and a good field? Steve, what do you mean by recruiting is more sales than HR? Also, what does "pushing paper" mean?

I have been on contract work for a company since May. My contract was up at the end of August, but was extended and is now scheduled to finish at the end of this month. The position is an entry level HR job and I have abaout 2 years of HR experience. I would like to write a letter that shows my appreciation for them having provided me with the work. I would like the letter to double as a way of showing my interest in staying on with the company (I know they can afford it) as a permanent employee. Any suggestions on what I could put into the letter would great. Websites with samples are great too. Thanks. Only legitimate helpful responses please. I know there is work I can do here to keep me busy. The company is rapidly expanding and is constantly creating new permanent jobs. So I know that there is room. I would like to do it face to face, but the person making the decision is in another country
