I applied for the post online last week. I sent a follow up email to HR manager asking if they have received my application and material and I am interested in the postition. I got a reply from his assistant that they have recieved my application. They did not mention anything about my job application status. Does it mean that I am unsuccessful? The online account states it is 'in process' from the closing date of the vacancy. Please help.

I am an HR Manager with a small firm, and it has only been a few months at my job. I feel this is a very responsible position and I have a lot to learn. Can someone point me to some good resources where I can learn about this field? I am more of a generalist. Thank you so much.

I had a very good interview with the HR manager at a company, but I have not heard from the head of either department that she was wanting me to meet with. Does it take longer for larger companies? I am started to get discouraged, I followed up with her WED. and she said she was hoping to hear something from them that day, but today is friday and I still have not heard anything. Would she as an HR manager have influence over me being hired?

For example, If I was getting a surgical removal of xyz, who would be able to see that information? Would the HR manager that I know, and see frequently automatically have to know that information? I would think that that would be a little embarassing.

Suppose a person gets hired for an IT professional job for a company, and they intended to pay $120k a year salary. Upon negotiating the salary after being hired, he tells his HR manager that he only wants $24k a year for the position. Will they pay him that, or would they negotiate something in between?

From reading job descriptions, it seems like HR would be a good fit for me....I am good with people and I love directing things and making sure everything gets done. But my dad said HR managers are hated! is this true? I don't know if I could handle that, and I'm wondering what they do to make people hate them?! I wouldn't wanna hurt anybody!

I am applying for the Sales Support Representative position at AT&T. The HR manager asked if I would like to visit the store that I might be working at and spend a few hours learning what the job is like. The position will involve mostly inventory, back-of-the-store work with some aspects of customer service. Has anyone worked in this position before and could you recommend several questions to ask the manager while I'm there? Thanks

If applicant interviewed with dept manager and HR manager, can the dept manager extend job offer or does it have to be done by the HR manager? Also, if the HR manager is not available, can the dept manager extend offer from approval of HR? Or does it need to be done by the person next in line to the HR manager such as Operations? Cannot find information online.

I received an email from a well-known company for offering a senior-level position to me. Interestingly, the human resource manger only mention the date & time for interview, but she didn't mention the interview is for what kind of position. My background is a programmer, should I assuming that I am hired for a programmer job and just for for the interview? If you think I need to ask the HR manager for additional info about the position the company is offering, how do I politely ask her this question? Thanks!

I am the HR manager at my new job which is a very small company. I've been asked to come up with a complete in-processing process for new employees. Because we are a small company, we will not have a formal employee orientation, but we would like to have something set where we can welcome the new employee and not just throw them into their new position. I've already come up with the standard steps or filling out paperwork and meeting with direct supervisors, but do you have any suggestions on how to make this process more welcoming? What kinds of things did you go through when you were hired or what would you like to see when you first get hired? Please help! Thank you!
