Would it be right for a corporation to hire without any proper basis and guidelines for hiring, recruitment, and placement of new employees? What are the legal impediments of this practice? Can someone highly qualified for a certain job file a case against a corporation of no HR office/officer who turned the applicant down because the in charge has the right to choose whoever he wants to place under his department. Is it right to let the hiring be done by operations people, and not be initiated and performed by a qualified Human Resource officer?

I'm 17 and I'm interested in working at an airport becouse I love the environment. I'm particularly interested in positions of management where there is a lot of moving around and meeting & helping people (airport manager?). (Not pilot, luggage handler, or flight attentedant, work at fast food chains or gift shops!) and also, what's the job title of people who check your passport and tell you where you're sitting? It would be good if you could tell me as many possibilities and how much that job usually pays because a decent salary is important. Thanks!

I have worked since I was 17, high school grad, high IQ, very diverse work experience, including office, warehouse, picking/packing, assembly and customer service. I was laid off from my job of 5.5 years in June 05 because of company downsizing due to the losses in the telecommunication industry, and since then have been applying non-stop for jobs, only to get low paying temporary assignments through agencies. I would dearly love, and desperately need a full time position that pays more than $10 an hour. What do I need to do? HELP!

Im in my first year studying criminology and was wondering what jobs I could get and the only ones I could think off was police, prison or teaching, youth offending ect. But I feel that the career outcome of a criminology degree is minimal. So I thought with the economy being at a difficult stage its hard for me to get a job as it is and want to have a degree that will get me somewhere. I was thinking of transfering to maybe business management or something. So what jobs are there for a criminology degree ? Im in the UK. Thanks
