I've got a degree in psychology w a spanish minor, and I have been in retail as a sales associate for about 3 years. I was also an office assistant in high school for 2 years. Most requirements for the job say you should have experience in human resources, which I don't yet. How should I relate in my cover letter?

I will be graduating in February with an Associates in Business degree and will be signing up in a few months to get my Bachelor's degree. Thing is, I am not sure what type of degree to get in order to work in Human Resources. Of course, my current school advisor is trying to get me to stay with University of Phoenix so he is telling me what they offer only. But I am pretty sure I want to be in a classroom for my BA. Ideas? Thanks!

I am looking at going back to school for 2009. Would having an Associates degree in business administration and a certificate in human resource management be a good combo on a resume? Or would I be just wasting my time? Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated! Ps. I am wanting to work more as an administrative assistant but work myself up the ladder. I am excited at the thought of learning more of how a business runs and such. Thanks!

I had an interview with PNC Bank and I think I'm going to get hired. I exceed the qualifications in sales, customer service, etc. and the manager was really nice. I've always thought I'd be working in an office as Human Resource, Admin, or something like that but I have a difficult time finding them to hire me. Anyways, I'll be a customer service associate if hired. I'll be doing things like learning about loans, payments, interest, all the credit card stuff, doing bank telling, I'm hoping there's room for growth and I can make the big bucks lol.

I expect to have other duties assigned in my workplace to make operations smooth, but when I have to do other tasks that are under someone else's job description, isn't it called being a "floater"? These new duties (considered a full time position) were not submitted to me in writing, they were placed on my desk. I am an Admin Associate, and the duties are under Human Resources with hiring and firing. If my employer is combining HR and my position, shouldn't I be notified first instead of finding the work on my desk that I am now responsible for?

I am currently enrolled in the Human Resources program at Penn Foster. I've read both good and bad reviews. The thing I'm afraid of most is that no one will hire me because I graduated from Penn Foster and I will have wasted my time and money. Will I be able to get a job with an Associates from Penn Foster?
