Human Resources Records Clerk Job Questions & Answers

I am updating my resume and my most recent job was as a student assistant for Human Resources at my University. During which I would perform a task of running to our storage unit which contained files of terminated employees to reorganize boxes of files and pull as well as input documents into those files. Is there a specific professional title for this task? Thank you very much!

I tried a google search and came up empty along with other yahoo answers. I can only stand up for about 2 hours after that my knees start to feel very "pressured" if that's the word to use, ...rather painful after 4 hours to make things easier. (past injury) So does anyone know of any job fields that don't require a lot of walking or standing. Even if they require further studying, I would like to know my options.

I took medical terminology, medical insurance billing, and electronic reocriding and filing in a vocational school. I did not take coding class. I was told I can start work as a medical records clerk in a doctor's office, but might need to volunteer to get my foot in the door. What about billing? Do I need to take coding to work as a records clerk, or just as a biller? Do I need to be certified to work as a records clerk or as a biller? Is volunteering the only way to get a job in medical records?

I was wondering what other jobs I could apply skills acquired through library work (at a library assistant level). I have been doing this work for a number of years now (including front line customer service). I know that the skills would be transferable to records management roles, and filing clerk roles. Anything else? Also, I don't have library qualifications per se.

Ok i went for a job interview and got the job yesterday i went down to take my finger prints and drug test today i was called by Human Resources, and they told me to finish up the rest of my application status, so it could be put in for payroll, and also they found something i guess in my records back in nov,2006. from finger printing, so i was told to go to my clerks office go and obtain an Offical Disposition, with a seal. i was told it has to have a seal. of i am confused. 1, with finger prints being taken , didnt they see what was on my record 2. oh my god that case was dismissed and i was 17 yrs old i thought it was wiped out clean, now the arest was for retail theft. like i said i thought everything was going to be wiped out and done. but i have never been in troulble since!! trust me i learned my lesson, and again the case was dismissed and i was never convicted.3, what do they mean it must be seal? does that mean sealed with proof it came from the courts or the case had to b again i want to know your opinion do you think i will still have this job, and this is with working for a bank. i know i have some things in favor. its been a long time, i was a minor "a stupied one",i never got in trouble since then, never any arrests, that case was dismissed, i never lied when asked if convicted. but the thing that does look bad is that it was theft and working in a bank , i am so sure thats the worst to have on any arrest record, i really though that was behind me since i have had background checks especially for becoming a manager in retail, and this never came up. i hope someone can help me

Last year i got charged with a misdemeanor in petty theft, however i was not arrested. Due to the fact i was not informed about my court date, i had missed it and months later found out that i have a warrant. I recently moved to a new city and have been applying to a lot of jobs and even getting some interviews. I had a job at a place that did not conduct background checks, but i got laid off because there were too many employees. Now i am starting to apply all over again specifically to retail stores, and stores in general and i believe most of them conduct background checks. I have heard both sides of the coin, i hear that some places will not hire you because of a petty theft, and i also hear that a lot of times it is upto the background check and human resource department to decide instead of the hiring manager. I need to take care of all this, but i can't until i have a job as i am a young college student. I know that warrants do not show up on every kind of background check, but i am even more so concerned about the petty theft because i know that many places in retail look at that seriously. What i am asking is, is their ANY chance of someone being hired despite of a misdemeanor in petty theft? A lot of young people and even some college students get a petty theft charge, and i have 2 personal friends WHO DO WORK AT DILLARDS AND THE OTHER AT SEARS WITH A PETTY THEFT CHARGE, but a lot of young people with a petty theft charge have normal jobs at stores and such. So is their even a possibility of being hired with a misdemeanor in petty theft, in retail (stores in the mall) and other chain stores? Please do not answer if you do not have the proper information, i just want to know so i could quit applying to these places and get an interview and get hired and fail the background check. Also i never was convicted of it officially since i have yet to go to court and sort the issue out since i have no job or money. If you are going to be rude and judgemental save your crap for someone else.
